Hi. I want to thank you for this, but could I persuade you to change all citations to that new format? Changing just a random selection places a burden on the other editors to change the rest, and I frankly find that more tiresome than reverting your edit. Please see my point. Temperature in Kelvin

I noticed that you changed "K" to "°K" in this edit. I'd like to let you know that, unlike °C, the temperature unit Kelvin is never combined with a degrees sign. Also, in proper spoken language "degrees Kelvin" is not used. --JorisvS (talk) 18:32, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's to it is

I'm not sure where the manual of style on contractions, Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Abbreviations, states that we shouldn't use contractions in prose. Perhaps you could show me. Walter Görlitz (talk) 21:33, 21 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Re: your message on my talk page, I can quickly reference MOS:CONTRACTION, but I'm not sure how you are defining "prose". Generally speaking I try to avoid expanding contractions in things like articles recapping episodes of shows, etc. My understanding of this issue is based on another MOS section indicating that contractions 1) do not sound encyclopedic and 2) are less clear in meaning. - LilHelpa (talk) 21:43, 21 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
See also MOS:ABBR from which I quote: "A contraction is an abbreviation of one or more words that has some or all of the middle letters removed but retains the first and final letters (e.g. Mr and aren't). Fixing my systematic typo

Dear LilHelpa, I'd like to apologize and thank you at the same time for all the copy-edit you did on articles containing my systematic typo "caculated". Your AWB vandalism

Your edit (diff) to Mirza Abu Taleb Khan suggests that you have not quite mastered AWB and/or wikipedia references. You amended references in the form <ref name="Note 1" group="Note"> to <ref name="Note 1 group=Note">, which royally buggers things up. If you compare the notes and references section of the article under your version, and the prior version, you'll see the effect. I hope that you have not been making a habit of doing this. I see what you mean. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm not sure I agree that it "royally buggers things up". I think it just buggers them up. AWB for aka -> a.k.a.

Hi. You seem to be replacing aka with a.k.a. in AWB. In this edit though, you changed the named parameter of an infobox template. The parameter has to be named aka. Please check your AWB to ensure it won't break infoboxes or other templates. -- ferret (talk) 22:41, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

aka is ok

@DVdm: In other cases, yes, but not at Wikipedia (we're a notch above, don't you think?). Please see this Manual of Style entry. The MOS entry at RETAIN that you cited refers to consistency in the usage of language varieties within articles. I have attempted to change all instances of aka except those which are part of names (thanks for your fix on that one). Actually, I did learn something by finding the MOS entry to which I directed you, so thanks for that, too, (as well as your vigilance). -LilHelpa (talk) 11:55, 30 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Subchannel notability

I see that you improperly removed a notability notice from WBNG-DT2. The reason is clear - it is unsourced. Most subchannels are not notable and are written incorrectly as a stand alone TV station when it is just part of a station. This would be like giving the news department of a station its own article just because it exists. There are a few subchannels that might be notable on there own but that is unlikely. The reason has been discussed multiple times at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Television Stations a few years back. Spshu (talk) 14:19, 9 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

MOS:HEAD issues

I dont know if this interests you but there are many articles (maybe around 20%) that have unnecessary duplication of the article name in section headings (and sometimes unnecessary duplication of a section heading in a subsection heading). Section headings are also sometimes wrongly all initial caps. Ref MOS:HEAD. It makes the TOC look more complicated than it needs to be. I am doing what I can. You can try Grammarly. It catches most everything except for Wikipedia formatting. I use AutoWikiBrowser, but if you mostly make new articles, it may not make sense for you to learn it. A fix

Hi User:LilHelpa, are you alright to remove sources [1] and [4] from Maiorana article and the information relating to them please? As they are unreliable and a removal won't be challenged. It should probably be changed to "is a surname" or "is a surname of Norman-French origin", for the reliable 5th source. Secondly, I have been doing work on Chinese geography-related articles including making citations for charts and lists of administrative divisions- Administrative divisions of China, Subdistricts of the People's Republic of China, Wuhan, List of township-level divisions of Hubei, etc. I would sincerely welcome your most vicious editing in these pages so I can learn where I may be making systematic errors.
