Broadway railway station is a former Great Western Railway station that served the town of Broadway in Worcestershire, England. It opened in 1904, and closed to passengers in 1960; the original station buildings were demolished in autumn 1963[3] although the line through the site remained open for regular passenger trains until 1968 and goods until official closure in November 1976.

The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway started work for the reconstruction of the station in 2009, along with the track south to Laverton and its existing line to Cheltenham.

Preservation

From 2015, the four mile section of track from the current terminus at Toddington toward Broadway station was being relaid,[4] and in 2016 the company launched its latest share offer, "Broadway: the last mile", to complete the last mile of track.[5] Trains currently run as far as Laverton Halt.[6] The rebuilding of Broadway station is due to be completed in 2017,[7] and services are expected in spring 2018.[8] The first train since 1960 arrived at Broadway Station on Christmas Eve 2017 after volunteers had finished laying the track on 23 December 2017.[9]

The GWR Broadway Area Group of the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway Trust started work clearing the derelict site in 2009. As of August 2017, both platforms have been reconstructed, a signal box on platform 2 has been rebuilt and is in the process of being fitted out with necessary signalling equipment, the footbridge span has been erected and bricklaying on the main station building has been completed with the canopy and roof in its final stages. Track started to be laid in the cutting north of the station during summer 2017.[10][11]

Honeybourne Line being rebuilt for passenger trains.

The Trust completed the laying of tracks on 23 December 2017, with a test train arriving at Broadway later the same day, and hope to have passenger services running by 30 March 2018.[12]
