I just added the inline citations mentioned by the reviewer. I sincerely appreciate another look at the page "Anouar H. Smaine" as it now has plenty of references for each section. Many thanks. ahdirector. October 16th. 2017

Hi. We're into the last five days of the Women in Red World Contest. There's a new bonus prize of $200 worth of books of your choice to win for creating the most new women biographies between 0:00 on the 26th and 23:59 on 30th November. If you've been contributing to the contest, thank you for your support, we've produced over 2000 articles. If you haven't contributed yet, we would appreciate you taking the time to add entries to our articles achievements list by the end of the month. Thank you, and if participating, good luck with the finale!

Nomination of Don't Know Why (album) for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Don't Know Why (album) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Don't Know Why (album) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article.

Discussion you previously took part in

A discussion you previously took part in, at Ron Stallworth, has spawned another attempt by an editor to force his scan of a yearbook picture onto the page, at this new discussion. As your previous response was well-thought-out and cogent, I thought you might want to weigh in on this one as well. Thanks. Amsgearing (talk) 15:52, 25 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Claims of significance

You removed a proposal for deletion template with the reason stated in your edit summary "has claims of significance". Would you be more specific about that? I'm not being sarcastic. I would like to hear more about your criteria for keeping an article. Thanks.

your vague arguments at AfD

Hi. This is more of a followup to the post above this one. I have seen your participation in a few AfDs. I also recently pinged you at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sorry (2017 film) (2nd nomination), and around two weeks ago at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Main Maike Chali Jaungi Tum Dekhte Rahiyo. Both of these discussions are still ongoing, and you have been asked for your input, due to your previous vague arguments to "keep" the article. Kindly read WP:Clearly notable, and WP:JUSTA. Although not binding, I suggest you to provide sources for your arguments or to retract them. Again, it is just a suggestion; please feel free to ignore it if you'd like. Regards, —usernamekiran(talk) 23:34, 27 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    • Hi, am disappointed with your attitude which borders harrassment - just because you ping someone does not mean they must respond, and the provision of sources is as much for the nominator as for the keep voter and votes are not retracted on the urging of the nominator. Regarding my arguments being vague, if your arguments were so strong the articles would have been deleted regardless of my input. As you are probably aware in Europe with the copyright restrictions and so forth not all Indian websites are available due to early measures by those websites so searching is more difficult. Regarding Main Maike Chali Jaungi Tum Dekhte Rahiyo sources were provided by another editor and although you tried to discredit them your argument has not been supported so I waited to see other editor's opinion of the sources. Regarding the Sorry article the question is most importantly whether the article has been faked rather than sources because if it is a fake it can be deleted as a speedy deletion G3. I hope we can return to more cordial relations, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 00:24, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
      • Also, the links you gave are to an essay that is considered biased by a number of editors which is why it was not included in the new AFD explanatory template. It is neither a policy or even a guideline, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 00:29, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
        • I apologise for my comment looking as harassment, it was definitely not my intention. In short, what I am trying to say here is, it is a good practice to provide sources when the argument says nothing else than "Keep as there are enough sources for WP:GNG to be passed" special:diff/864964257; especially if it is the first vote. That was my point. Nothing more. And regarding the pings, if an editor states "it passes GNG", "has reliable sources", and no sources have been provided in the discussion by anybody; the sources should be provided while making the comments like them. If sources are not provided originally, and someone else asks that editor particularly for the sources, and even then if the sources are not provided; then how is the community supposed to know if the editor really even performed the search, or simply commented "has sources"?
        • But all of these are opinions, they are logical summary/result of other policies, and guidelines. And they are not binding, as I politely said in my first comment. I just wanted to let you know, and I have delivered my message. Regards, —usernamekiran(talk) 17:52, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Equality Trust edits

Hi,

We have been trying to edit/correct the entry for our charity for a while.

We asked https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Lyiriyah to do this for us, but this has been reversed. The information currently there is not accurate.

Please can you revert back to the edits Lyiriyah made.

thanks,

It puzzles me how lack of significant coverage, recreation of a deleted page without draft, lack of verifiability of any biographical statement in this article, and relying on one Deadline article is outdone by a couple of episodes on a tv show, when all articles are about fictional character not the actress and none of those sources are even given. NPR Newsletter No.15 16 November 2018

Chart of the New Pages Patrol backlog for the past 6 months.

Hello Atlantic306,

Community Wishlist Survey – NPP needs you – Vote NOW
  • Community Wishlist Voting takes place 16 to 30 November for the Page Curation and New Pages Feed improvements, and other software requests. The NPP community is hoping for a good turnout in support of the requests to Santa for the tools we need. This is very important as we have been asking the Foundation for these upgrades for 4 years.
If this proposal does not make it into the top ten, it is likely that the tools will be given no support at all for the foreseeable future. So please put in a vote today.
We are counting on significant support not only from our own ranks, but from everyone who is concerned with maintaining a Wikipedia that is free of vandalism, promotion, flagrant financial exploitation and other pollution.
With all 650 reviewers voting for these urgently needed improvements, our requests would be unlikely to fail. See also The Signpost Special report: 'NPP: This could be heaven or this could be hell for new users – and for the reviewers', and if you are not sure what the wish list is all about, take a sneak peek at an article in this month's upcoming issue of The Signpost which unfortunately due to staff holidays and an impending US holiday will probably not be published until after voting has closed.

Curfew

You removed the proposed deletion template and gave as your reason in your edit summary "has reliable sources coverage such as the Evening Standard". Would you enter sourced material into those articles so that the maintenance templates can be removed? Would you provide the list of sources you found? Thanks for your help. I'm sure many readers will appreciate it.
Vmavanti (talk) 19:20, 21 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    • When I have the time, its as much your responsibility as mine and Im not listing anything except when I add references to the article. See WP:PROD where it states that a prod can be removed for any reason and if you disagree to take it to AFD not bother the deprodder and tell him to rewrite the article. The Evening Standard review is quoted on their website and they do at least have an entry on allmusic but no bio. If it had not been for the Evening Standard I would not have deprodded it. The readers do not appreciate articles suddenly disappearing when there is the possibility that they can be improved. My outlook is trying to prevent reasonable articles from being deleted and if I spent all my time on one article another ten might be deleted in the meantime, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 19:35, 21 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Cite AV media help

An editor who is also a programmer told me he could use help writing instructions on how to use templates, specifically Cite AV media. Do you know enough about this template to explain to readers how to use it? If so, take a look. By the way, you said on your User page you are in the Scottish highlands. Vmavanti (talk) 19:39, 30 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I know that well. I live in a cold climate that my dog loves. The double coat protects him. He hates the summer, won't walk in it. But I can walk him in 10 degree (F) weather in the winter when the other dogs (and owners) won't go outside. He was diagnosed last Christmas with diabetes, but he's getting along OK with daily shots and prescription canned food. Stubborn guy, stubborn but lovable.

Jayasri (Band)

You moved Draft:Jayasri (Band) on the basis, in part, of "notable label Sony". I think you're reading more into the mentions of Sony than they merit. Picking one item from the list, "Rootsie Boopsie", Discogs shows it's a Papa Winnie record, nothing to do with Jayasri. Those albums in the table which clearly claim to be Jayasri's all lack a major label - Planet Entertainment Europe, Ransilu Asia, Saranga Asia, M Entertainment Asia, Lotus Records Austria EU, Jayasri music. All of them redlinks - and I've tried stripping words from the end of the names and still found nothing. So I ask, what credible claim of significance is there? Cabayi (talk) 14:36, 1 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    • Having their music featured in notable films and performing the anthem for a world cricket tournament, also some of the references are reliable so it is definitely not an A7 Atlantic306 (talk)

Thank you for your overall efforts to improve tis biography. Still the biography is far from encyclopaedic. There is a long list of deficiencies listed here not addressed at all. Please, take a look at these deficiencies. My personal opinion is this biography is a strong candidate for sppedy deletion for its promotional nature, false claims and lack of reliable references.--109.93.102.172 (talk) 18:17, 2 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
