need some help

Hi @Rosiestep:. you said I could ping you to discuss ways to get the resources at WikiProject Council moving again. I really need your help and input. My efforts are in jeopardy of being reversed or diverted if I don't get some supportive input. could you please let me know if you are available to do so? I really appreciate it. please ping me when you reply. thanks. --Sm8900 (talk) 03:17, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sm8900, and thanks for stopping by. Seems like there might be a bit of confusion. I thought you were seeking points of contact for WikiProject Women in Red, and that's why Victuallers' name and mine -we're the cofounders- were mentioned to you on the Women in Red talkpage. In that regard, I would be glad to chat with you, e.g. our activities, metrics, and so forth. Note, I'm currently on international wiki travel, so if your inquiry is urgent, my pagestalkers might be able to assist if you leave a detailed message. Best, --Rosiestep (talk) 04:06, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
hi Rosiestep. thanks for your reply! well, yes, that is absolutely correct. the thing is, my reason for requesting that data was in order to list you at the page for WikiProject Council. did you get a notification when I listed you there? I hope that you did. either way, would it be possible for you to tell me whether that has your agreement? if so, I may need your input. I appreciate your help. thanks. --Sm8900 (talk) 04:09, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Sm8900. No, I didn't get pinged. Would you please provide a diff link? Thank you. --Rosiestep (talk) 04:57, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

sure, no problem. here is a link below to the version of the page that shows my edits; this includes the listing of your name, and other coordinators for your wikiproject. Write back here, to let me know what you think of this. If you agree with this, then I could use your input, but first I'd like to give you a chance to look over these edits, since you may not have seen them before if you weren't pinged. thanks!!!

thanks!! --Sm8900 (talk) 05:03, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sm8900 Thanks for the link. The info seems fine. --Rosiestep (talk) 05:11, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
thanks, that's really good to know. so then, in that case, could you please go to this talk page section, and express your support for including that information on the page? I added it and everything was fine, but now one editor reverted everything on their own, so I need some input. I really appreciate your help there. thanks.
Link to talk page section: WikiProject_Council#Discussion re recent article edits.
thanks. --Sm8900 (talk) 05:28, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sm8900, I just reviewed that section and I lack a clear understanding of what edits are under discussion. Also, don't have time/inclination to delve more deeply. As I've mentioned previously, I'm available to chat about Women in Red. --Rosiestep (talk) 05:41, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
ok, no problem. I understand. thanks!! --Sm8900 (talk) 05:42, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I also looked at the discussion which seemed pointed but open to debate. I wasn't sure (like Rosie) of the ambition for the project, it seemed that the discussion would in time be constructive. Good luck. Victuallers (talk) 09:09, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sm8900: I also feel there is some confusion about what exactly you are trying to achieve on WP:Council. Given the high number of page views to its main page, it seems to me to be a useful starting point for those who are interested in examining background on wikiprojects, possibly with a view to creating new ones or improving those which already exist. May I suggest you outline on the WP Council talk page what you consider to be the project's shortcomings and how you think they could be overcome. I too welcome your enthusiasm to make WP:Council more effective and appreciate the progress you have been making with WP History.--Ipigott (talk) 11:20, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Precious anniversary

Precious
Eight years!

... and today, thank you! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:55, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, @Gerda, what a happy memory this is, being the first editor ever to receive the Precious Award. Thank you, again, for the original honor, and for the reminder with this post today. --Rosiestep (talk) 16:40, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, it's a special pleasure for me as well. To my delight, the date coincides with featuring a woman on DYK who made the impossible possible, - a good reminder to us all that this IS possible. I decorated my talk on the occasion. I met her when the miracle happened, and she was all gentle, kind and happy. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:45, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Gerda Arendt, these sorts of coincidences are lovely, as is the fact that you actually met Jutta Hering-Winckler. In the meantime, I've updated her talkpage. --Rosiestep (talk) 16:57, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
ps: I uploaded cat pics from a recent vacation, such as this, - feel free to make the description more precise, - I don't know such things in English. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:51, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
So cute! Will you be uploading "La Fajana, La Palma, Three cats on chair" (and any others?) to Commons? If yes, I'd be pleased to have them "keep an eye on things around here". --Rosiestep (talk) 16:57, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
They are on commons, also two others who stare even more: one + three black. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:05, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Gerda, found them and now, the three on chair are "keeping an eye on things around here"; in the future, the others. :) --Rosiestep (talk) 17:39, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Lovely. Under there watchful eyes, the page will be free from misunderstandings ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:35, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your input is requested

at Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/Next issue/Community view before Friday.

Only 100 or so words. It should be fun and serious at the same time.

All the best,

Smallbones(smalltalk) 02:01, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The community has determined you were the creator of the 6 millionth article, with the article Maria Elise Turner Lauder. Congratulations, and thank you for your work here! Coffee // have a ☕️ // beans // 21:27, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Maria Elise Turner Lauder
Coffee, Oh my gosh, I've got goosebumps! Thank you for the honor and for the opportunity to spotlight a woman writer. I really appreciate it. --Rosiestep (talk) 21:34, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Amazingggggggggggggg! ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:07, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Perfect!!! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:16, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

ps: For another coincidence: I just uploaded an image to match, File:Rose Window, Neviges.jpg, - the creator of that beauty celebrates his 100th birthday today, alive! - Heard it/him on radio, rememered the pic, and expanded the article about his master piece five times, - sooo proud I managed! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:22, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

As someone else whose article was close to 6M, this couldn't have happened to someone more deserving. +1 to everyone else's congratulations! And what a sweet payoff for all the work you've done for Women in Red and Women in Green! Daniel Case (talk) 22:19, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I predict in another five years (or less) Women in Red will be able to firmly be known as Women in Blue because of the hard work done by Rosie and others! Coffee // have a ☕️ // beans // 22:26, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Congratulations Rosie! So happy that this milestone was reached with an article about a woman. SusunW (talk) 22:32, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, @Fuzheado, Another Believer, Gerda Arendt, Daniel Case, Coffee, and SusunW. I am so happy that this article received the honor, and I truly appreciate your kind words. --Rosiestep (talk) 22:36, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, Wow - How fab. I had hoped it would be a WiR. It's too perfect that it was actually yours. Excellent news. Well done. ☕ Antiqueight chatter 23:25, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, @Mz7, Bilorv, Antiqueight, Casliber, and Gerda Arendt:. I really appreciate your kind words. Let's improve this article! --Rosiestep (talk) 23:57, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A cup of tea for you!

For your work for creating the 6th millionth article, here's towards a potential FA à la Persoonia Terminalis. Jerry (talk) 22:44, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats! It 's a pretty good article

Rosie!

Is this a good picture?

This is just wonderful. I've been wondering who the 6,000,000th author will be for a few months now. If you don't mind, The Signpost will give you a paragraph or 3 in News and notes, and maybe even a photo if it fits in well. If you like another photo better let me know. If you want to write a short paragraph for N&N that's ok too. Let me give you a question to work from: How does it feel to have written en-Wiki's 6,000,000th article?

Now if you look about 3 sections up, I'd previously sent you an invitation to suggest a "Most important article out of the last 1,000,000". Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/Next issue/Community view You are still invited to do that and if you want to include Maria Elise Turner Lauder that's ok too - "most important" here is meant to be completely subjective. Any other article would be fine as well.

If you read my draft intro to the Community view article, you may have noticed that I wrote about the METL article "but please recognize that this is not the most important new article since then." I obviously left out the word "necessarily" from the draft. I'd guess somebody else is likely to nominate it as "most important", but if you were to self-nominate it later, I'd replace any earlier nomination.

Did I say "congratulations Rosie!" Way to go! Smallbones(smalltalk) 23:27, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm running way behind on this month's Signpost. Saturday afternoon would be fine. Smallbones(smalltalk) 00:03, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats!!!

Congrats on making the 6,000,000th edit here!!! wow! well done!! there is literally no one else I would rather see given this honor!!! well done indeed!! now there is stuff that I very much need your help with. I will send you a separate note!!! --Sm8900 (talk) 03:23, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A goat for you!

Congratulations Rosie! I was delighted when I heard one of your articles was a contender for the six millionth article. What an exciting day for Wikipedia and WiR :) Nice work!

P.S. I love today's cat! I have a soft spot in my heart for fluffy orange cats, though you wouldn't know it looking at my two feline companions.

Congrats on 6 millionth article

I just browsed Wikipedia and cannot tell me how happy I felt after watching the 6 million tag on wiki's logo. What a great source of knowledge it has been for me. Congrats on being the one to write the 6 millionth article on wiki. Nice work!. Amir (talk) 04:57, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
