Blank(2019 film)
- Blank(2019 film) → Sunny Deol (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
There is a 2019 named "Blank", where this page originally target, but the target was changed by EmausBot. Also, this film is not mentioned at that target. However, it seems that the left bracket is too close to the word, so I'm not 100% sure if we should retarget this page back to the 2019 film page. Seventyfiveyears (talk) 22:43, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
François Mathet
- François Mathet → fr:François Mathet (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Delete, unless there is an appropriate local target for this page. Sending readers to non-English content is not helpful. Additionally, the plain soft redirect template is not used in the mainspace. Precedents: Mohamed Chabani|, Saint Michel Boulevard, Bonne Nuit les Petits, Kumagai Morikazu, and Éditions Fides. — Godsy (TALKCONT) 20:39, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- Delete per nom and WP:REDLINK. Thryduulf (talk) 22:59, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- Comment: I'll take this and translate it, I am not sure it is going to be WP:N in EN:WP though, as FR:WP is a bit more lax with the old RS. Please keep the listing open here at RfD, technically it won't be an R but the French article is only a stub really, so might fail N etc anyway. Some references are in English... as an IP ed I can't create a new article without a lot of rigamarole, but I can edit existing pages... 84.236.27.182 (talk) 00:44, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
- Dang, the one time in my life I could have said "hold your horses" and didn't :) as you can see, I'm translating it, so technically it is now an article and not a redirect, I obviously to do that had to remove the RfD tag from it but I don't want it to get lost here. So far, it seems as if he is notable, but I haven't done much checkref yet. 84.236.27.182 (talk) 01:44, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
- I tried to do a Wikidata link from FR to EN but it keeps warning me that my IP will be published etc. So a confirmed user might have to do that for me... I know how to do it, but it won't let me. 84.236.27.182 (talk) 01:57, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
Procedural close, please. I've translated the French article to English. If the closing admin could please add the Wikidata link that would be handy - as an IP editor it seems I can't do that. (It says I can, but in practice I can't.) I've translated as faithfully as I can, and checked every link, no doubt there are lurking typos and mistakes but on the whole I think it is better than nothing. 84.236.27.182 (talk) 03:20, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
- We haven't an
{{R from title without diacritical marks}}

Not mentioned at target. 𝟙𝟤𝟯𝟺𝐪𝑤𝒆𝓇𝟷𝟮𝟥𝟜𝓺𝔴𝕖𝖗𝟰 (𝗍𝗮𝘭𝙠) 19:42, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- Comment. The current domain has no relation to the target of the redirect, and I could not find the reasoning behind a bot creating this redirect in 2012. However, inspecting the page history for Quirky, it appears that 'Quirky' was moved to Quirky (company), then the redirect updated to Eccentricity (behavior). This redirect originally pointed to 'Quirky' when it was about the company, so perhaps it should point there now. Mindmatrix 23:25, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- Leaning on retargeting to Quirky (company) as an {{R from domain name}}, as Google.com does to Google Search. We might as well finish the job by going there, just saying... Regards, SONIC678 00:03, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
William Neville (born c.1338)
- William Neville (born c.1338) → William Neville (Lollard knight) (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
- Sir William Neville → William Neville (Lollard knight) (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
- William Neville (Lollard) → William Neville (Lollard knight) (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
These redirects should all be deleted. c.1338 is the wrong birth date, and "Sir William Neville" or "Lollard" alone (the latter I created myself but regret it) can refer to many people. These links are of course used nowhere important so a deletion will cause no disruptions. Avis11 (talk) 18:48, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
- I have to say, 'can refer to other people' is not a normal standard for deletion. If it can refer to other people who don't have Wikipedia pages, then there is no reason not to retain it as it is pointing to the only person on Wikipedia of that name. If there are other Wikipedia pages that the name might refer to, then there is a better case to convert it into a disambiguation page rather than to delete it. However, this is all contingent on how likely it is too be used as a search term, and though it is unlikely that anyone is going to do a search with a date approximation in parentheses, and "(Lollard)" is an unnatural syntax for a naive search but might be used by someone familiar with Wikipedia disambiguation (and when they start to type it the search window will suggest the correct name in real time, so it is probably moot), I don't see how 'Sir William Neville' would not be a reasonable search term. So, I would say definitely delete (c. 1338), ambivalent about (Lollard) but weak delete, and keep Sir William, converting it to a disambiguation page if relevant. Agricolae (talk) 19:50, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
- Of course, Sir William Neville can be redirected to the William Neville disamb. "Lollard" I created myself a year ago, but I wish I had moved to "Lollard knight" right then and there so there wouldn't be an extra idle redirect. Avis11 (talk) 02:48, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
- Retarget Sir William Neville to William Neville (a dab page) as William Neville, Earl of Kent at least was also a Sir of this name. Thryduulf (talk) 20:40, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
- Keep William Neville (born c.1338) as a long-standing, harmless and plausible {{R from other disambiguation}}. Thryduulf (talk) 20:40, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
- Keep William Neville (Lollard) as a {{R from move}}, the article was at this title for just under 2 years from creation so there is a high chance of links from outside Wikipedia. Thryduulf (talk) 20:40, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
- "c.1338" isn't plausible since the article and the source therein give the date as c.1341 (the fact that it's an approximation is irrelevant, the number is still different, so it's not likely to be searched). "Lollard" doesn't sound good alone; I created this redirect myself and I wish I hadn't. Avis11 (talk) 02:53, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
- Tentatively delete William Neville (born c.1338) per nom as the incorrect birth year (could there be sources that place his birth date in 1338?), but keep William Neville (Lollard) as a plausible alternative way of searching and the links to which Thryduulf alludes. Also retarget Sir William Neville to William Neville per Thryduulf's findings. Regards, SONIC678 14:53, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
- Weak keep William Neville (born c.1338). If the best we can say about his birth date is c.1341, I don't think I'd say c.1338 is wrong, even if it's certainly not the best way of describing it. The redirect was created for a reason, probably because this year was given in a source. I see no harm in being a bit loose when we're talking about dates from centuries ago. Retarget Sir William Neville to William Neville per Thryduulf; Keep William Neville (Lollard) unless ambiguity can be demonstrated. --BDD (talk) 19:14, 6 October 2020 (UTC)

Katrina Hurricane
- Katrina Hurricane → Hurricane Katrina (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Who would switch words in page titles? There are no similar redirect pages like Wilma Hurricane, Dorian Hurricane, etc. However, it is similar to "Kong Hong", in which was previously deleted at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2020 August 27#Kong Hong. Seventyfiveyears (talk) 19:35, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- Strong keep. This is a harmless {{R from modification}} that is extremely well used with over 1000 hits last year, likely driven, in part, from the five article-space links. Incoming links from outside the English Wikipedia are also likely. Thryduulf (talk) 20:07, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- Keep per Thryduulf. It isn't in the way of anything, and helps facilitate the searches of this average of 3-5 people per day. The title says it all. Regards, SONIC678 22:09, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- Keep Gets a good deal of use and isn't harmful. Deletion does not accomplish anything but make it harder for users to find what they are looking for here. Hog Farm Bacon 22:16, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- Keep, this is well used and unambiguous, unlike the cited example. The nominator has yet again failed to understand WP:OTHERSTUFF: the fact that something else does not exist could just as easily mean there are other redirects to create, not that this one should be deleted. If it is to be deleted, it should be on its own merits, not that of other redirects. Since the only other reason the nominator gave is more of a question that has already been answered, this makes it an easy keep, and would suggest that Seventyfiveyears withdraws this. -- Tavix (talk) 22:20, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
La Maison d'Âpre-Vent
- La Maison d'Âpre-Vent → Bleak House (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Delete per WP:RLOTE, other than having an FA on frWiki, I don't see any connection between this subject and the French language. signed, Rosguill talk 18:30, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- La Maison d'Âpre-Vent is apparently the French title of Bleak House. Are readers of the French Wikipedia being directed to the English site? Rosguill, I find the comments above confusing. Rwood128 (talk) 19:35, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- Rwood128, the premise of RLOTE is that we should only create redirects from other languages if the subject has an affinity to said language (e.g. El amor en los tiempos de colera but not El sueño de una noche de verano). You can read the full justification for this position by following the link to the essay. As Bleak House doesn't have any particular connection to the French language, the norm would be to delete the redirect. signed, Rosguill talk 20:39, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- OK, this seems logical, as any discussion of La Maison d'Âpre-Vent should be included in the Bleak House article. Anyone searching for the French article on the novel will google La Maison d'Âpre-Vent. Interestingly the French articles on Dickens often seem better than the English ones! NFT Ventures
- NFT Ventures → Ray Noorda#NFT (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
This redirect, NFT Ventures, is from a name that is nowhere mentioned in the target article. It is also almost unused, having been used 10 times in calendar 2019 (less than once a month). NFT appears in Ray Noorda in passing as Noorda Family Trust, but not in the phrase NFT Ventures. There is now a draft Draft:NFT Ventures for an unrelated enterprise. Regardless of whether that draft is accepted, this redirect seems to be a mistake. If the draft is accepted, NFT can be made into a disambiguation page, but NFT Ventures has nothing to do with Ray Noorda. This redirect should be deleted. Robert McClenon (talk) 16:50, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- Keep. NFT Ventures refers to Ray Noorda's Noorda Family Trust. The redirect is not a mistake at all but deliberately created to redirect the legal name (NFT Ventures Inc.) to a related article discussing it (although there could be more about it). There is no requirement for redirects to be exactly mentioned in the target article per WP:REDIR.
- Here are two sources using the term: [1][2].
- NFT Ventures is historically important as a starting point for the Canopy Group, which in turn spawned a large number of high-tech companies, including Caldera (company), a highly influential operating software developer who brought forward one of the first business-oriented Linux distributions (OpenLinux) and significantly advanced OpenDOS aka DR-DOS (originally of Digital Research and Novell fame) and the web browser DR-WebSpyder. They also fought the Caldera vs. Microsoft antitrust case. On the con side, one branch of the company (Caldera International) later renamed into SCO Group and initiated a number of very questionable court cases. For historical completeness it is important to also cover NFT.
- If there will be another article using the same, we need to change NFT Ventures into a disambiguation page. Nothing should be deleted.

The Orange and Black
- The Orange and Black → Grand Junction High School#The Orange and Black (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
The section no longer exists and the article does not mention a newspaper. "Orange and Black" is ambiguous with Clifton Heights Orange & Black which several similar redirects target. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 06:57, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- Retarget to Clifton Heights Orange & Black. "Orange & Black" also redirects to that article. Seventyfiveyears (talk) 19:24, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Seventyfiveyears:. User:Blablubbs and I have been discussing this on its talk page, and please excuse me because I got rather distracted but of course you may want to read how far we've got. We're not even certain whether the common name was the "Orange and Black" or the "Black and Orange", sources seem to be about fifty-fifty. 84.236.27.182 (talk) 03:39, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
COBRA
- COBRA → Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Bringing this to RFD as it has been pointed to Cobra (disambiguation) and then reverted at least three different times (all by different users). The disambiguation page covers multiple topics written in all-caps, and based on pageviews [3], the current target is not the WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT by usage (much more likely than any other single topic, and more likely than all the other topics combined
) among them: it gets about 120 per day, vs. 90/day for the UK's Cabinet Office Briefing Rooms (but with enormous spikes recently), 160/day for India's Commando Battalion for Resolute Action, and 60/day for COBRA (art movement). Also per WP:DIFFCAPS, someone typing in all caps probably isn't looking for cobra either (c.f BATMAN, COWS, GREEN). 59.149.124.29 (talk) 05:43, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- Retarget to Cobra (disambiguation). There is no clear primary topic. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 07:00, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- Retarget to dab. Atsme Talk 📧 09:42, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- Retarget to dab. Thryduulf (talk) 13:28, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- Retarget as above. Perhaps I am losing my mind here, but I thought I drew attention to this over at WP:RM. I'm not the IP editor who made the nomination... my IP address changes frequently but never in that range. I mentioned it in passing at an RM a few days ago, I think, that it seemed unlikely that someone typing COBRA would be looking for an obscure and essentially administrative piece of legislature. The target hatnotes the DAB, which is probably entirely unnecessary as it is kinda fully disambiguated. I notice we also have CoBRA -> Commando Battalion for Resolute Action, (it wouldn't surprise me that this only shows up now exactly because this is at RfD, the mysteries of the search engine will always remain so to me, but I know it suppresses a lot of redirects but whether it takes account of the rcats or just has a lucky dip, no idea) whose WP:FIRSTSENTENCE and starts "COBRA" but infobox says "CoBRA", the article body text mostly uses "CoBRA" but the first sentence under Commando Battalion for Resolute Action § Training starts "Cobras are trained".... implying that "a cobra" is the name given to a member of this battallion... I would say the same applies for CoBRA as for COBRA, patently we can't distinguish on WP:SMALLDETAILS when the article itself cannot make its mind up how to caps it. 84.236.27.182 (talk) 22:50, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
- And CoBrA targets COBRA (art movement), which again can't make its mind up whether to be "COBRA", "Cobra", or "CoBrA".... obviously I can gnome the articles per WP:ARTCON but hesitate to do so while this RfD is open. Have can, will worms. Hand me that Crowbar... 84.236.27.182 (talk) 23:04, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
