Blocks

Hi, in general, when requesting blocks for simple vandalism, you should do it at WP:AIV, not on the admin noticeboard. Thanks! ╟─TreasuryTagNot-content─╢ 17:54, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the good advise. cheers mate. Ecoman24 (talk page) 20:06, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

ANI report

Hello, Hello, Ecoman24. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.

The only current problem I can see is your reverting edits to the sandbox as vandalism, please don't do that. --Cameron Scott (talk) 13:33, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Generally we let the vandals have their fun in the Sandbox, and not spread to the other parts of The Playground.--SKATER Speak. 14:41, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Protection request declined

Your request to have Wikipedia:Sandbox protected has been declined. As the page itself notes, the Sandbox is designed so that any user may test out and experiment on the page. — Kralizec! (talk) 15:12, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have a question...

Greetings. I don't know if that's one of the words that offends you, but I certainly didn't mean to, since you didn't make a list but only provided examples. In fact, that's my question to you. Why would you take offense when someone greets you with the most common English greeting there is (Hello) and obviously only means to be friendly? Your statement tells people that you intend to find offense and assume bad faith of people when they use a word that to 99.9% of the population is welcoming. It seems to impose a minefield for others to navigate to where no one is sure whether they may offend you unintentionally. This is why our policy of assuming good faith is essential for WP to work. We as strangers can't come together and develop a project without it, so I hope you reconsider your intentions. Thank you, Auntie E. 16:17, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

ha ha ha ha, Not really my friend. trust me, i don't get offended easily, can't take anything personal. sorry my friend. the word hello was met for a joke, just to make you laugh. there are bizarre things i come accross on wiki which makes me laugh, sometimes images, look at this I am sure you laughed. thanks, it was not used in an encyclopedia. Question, could you be my wiki friend? look at this and tell me what you will say, Ecoman24 (talk page) 16:26, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Now that is funny. Auntie E. 00:05, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Here's something I found on my watchlist: an IP reverting vandalism from a named account. Man bites dog... :P Auntie E. 00:27, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mentor

Following the ANI thread, I'd like to be your Mentor if that's alright.--SKATER Speak. 16:46, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I will take up the offer. Ecoman24 (talk page) 22:46, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your ANI interventions

While I appreciate your enthusiasm and willingness to engage with other editors and help them resolve their editing difficulties, I don't believe you currently have enough experience of interpreting Wikipedia's policies and guidelines to be making edits like the ones in this thread at ANI. Although your sentiments do you credit and you've made some good suggestions, I think you have misunderstood the nature of the problem (which is basically rooted in one editor's violation of our WP:OR and WP:COI policies). If you're interested in working in dispute resolution, you might eventually like to take a look at WP:MEDCAB; however, I'd strongly recommend you get some more experience first. You could perhaps consider adoption by a veteran editor as a first step. EyeSerenetalk 17:25, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Addendum ...or take up Skater's offer above (sorry, didn't notice that when I first posted!) EyeSerenetalk 17:28, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for the word. as i have indicated several times, i am up ready to receive any tutorial/mentorship. I will take up Skater offer. if any other person wish to help me, they are most welcome. Thanks guys. Ecoman24 (talk page) 22:45, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I can add to this - I wrote this at another new editor's page recently, and I am happy to offer here as well. Ecoman, have a go at writing something and I am happy to help. Cheers, Casliber (talk · contribs) 00:25, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, read your advise on 'working on 3m articles, choosing them at random. I will. please, make use of My School page. cheers. Ecoman24 (talk page) 10:51, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

ANI notices

Hi. When you open a discussion about another contributor on ANI, you are supposed to notify them. As the header says, "You must notify any user that you discuss. You may use {{subst:ANI-notice}} to do so." I've left a note for User:Smartse, but please be sure you do this in the future. Thanks. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 20:03, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Let's Get Started

First off, Thank you for allowing me the honor of being your Mentor. I have never done this before so bare with me as we learn together. For Starters please answer these questions so I can further understand you and how to assist you:

  1. What Time Zone do you live in?
  1. How long have you been on Wikipedia?
  1. What Internet Browser are you running?
  • Firefox
  1. Please name some of your hobbies.
  1. How do you plan to contribute to Wikipedia (Vandal Hunting, New Page Patrolling, Article Writing etc...)
  • Serious editing + article writing in engineering(medical engineering), physics, politics, bibliographies, History (Asian, European and African) - when i have good time. otherwise while having cup of tea, i tend to patrol few recent changes, not keen on new pages though. I also like reading and helping out on ANI (which is controversial now).... Ecoman24 (talk page) 17:25, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  1. What kind of computer do you have and Specs if possible.
  • self built - PIV, 1.5GB RAM, windows XP, few useful programs such as Matlab, and others installed.... Ecoman24 (talk page) 17:25, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Anything Interesting about you that I should know?
  • I live a christian life, but not a religious, so, do not have any DON'Ts in life. I hate putting any of my personal details online, cause i am afraid of google. enough infor about me is already on google, and does not want any more to be added. so, if you ever come to know any personal detail about me, never bring it into any discussion of what so ever please.

may i also suggest that we use user:Ecoman24/MySchool for further tutoring, or any one else interested. thanks. ... Ecoman24 (talk page) 17:25, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Do you like Fishsticks? just kidding...

Pale Ale

I removed Scotch Ale, Altbier and Saison from the Pale Ale article for one simple reason: they are not varieties of Pale Ale. Including them in the article is both confusing and ridiculous.

I have proposed that you be topic-banned from commenting on the main administrators' noticeboards as I feel your contributions there are almost always inappropriate and disruptive. The discussion is here. ➜Redverstalk  ❝It's bona to vada your dolly old eek 10:32, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have asked you to state how disruptive they are. I commented on the case i brought, I had taken note of the concerns raised in the previous ANI discussion, thats why i am not commenting on the case between Zain and CF, and it appears that the two editors are unable to find a solution. They almost came to conclusion with my help. I am not an Admin, and i always avoid PINNING others like an admin, thats why i try to be neutral, propose neutral solution. on the current issue against Smart, i asked him questions. I am happy he answered them thoroughly. please read my responses carefully before concluding. It is not helpful that you are not really helpful in your communication with me. I will appreciate if you may keep cool, point out the wrongs, give me chance to reply. thanks. Ecoman24 (talk page) 10:42, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If you can't see what the problems with your posts are - despite each time being told what the problems are at source and being told elsewhere on this page - then that is another reason you shouldn't be posting on AN/I. I urge you to volunteer to not post to WP:AN and WP:ANI for three months, lest the community decides to enforce that restriction. ➜Redverstalk  ❝It's bona to vada your dolly old eek 11:16, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ecoman, please take a look at WP:CANVASS. I'm going to comment on the ANI thread, but it isn't the kind of thing you wanted. Ironholds (talk) 12:08, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I know you want to be involved in dispute resolution but you are rather inexperienced for ANI. I'd suggest working on articles and getting your edit count to 1000 or higher then come back, until then Maybe try WP:WQA that's where I tend to help out.--SKATER Speak. 16:18, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

User talk:209.173.1.126

Yup, AIV it is. I'm not actually an admin, so I can't deal out blocks :). Ironholds (talk) 18:10, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

cool, reported it to wp:Aiv. Ecoman24 (talk page) 18:12, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Great

I see you've installed Twinkle, It's a great program to have and I generally use it in New Page Patrolling, It's a great way to get started in the article space. Another great toll to have is Lupin's anti-vandal tool It's what really got me started. You might need Rollback if I recall, I'm not entirely sure though.

As far as editing goes, try finding Stubs on articles that interest you and improve them. If you can't then go ahead and create an article, such as the one I created Greg Boone, which I could use some help expanding if you'd like to help.
Btw, apologies for not using your My school, I find it easier to use talk pages. That's all I can offer right now, best of luck I'll be watching your edits. Oh and for now, I still seriously advise staying off AIV (although it is a good read).--SKATER Speak. 01:30, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good Faith Edits?

This was a button slip I'm assuming?--SKATER Speak. 23:38, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

vandalism, Prince Waters (talk page) 00:42, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I know, but you marked it the edits as good faith on accident.--SKATER Speak. 13:47, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
ok. Prince Waters (talk page) 16:56, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've put a colon in front of the category up above somewhere; without it, it puts your userpage in a Category meant for help pages. I note that you didn't like someone else removing this, so normally I'd ask you to do this yourself instead of imposing myself in your userspace. But you don't seem to be editing regularly these days, and I don't think your page should remain in an improper category until you edit again. Let me know, here or on my talk page, if you have any questions. --Floquenbeam (talk) 23:16, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Spa Association Singapore

Hello Ecoman24. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Spa Association Singapore, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: context is clear. Thank you.  7  00:38, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

>==Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Micheal sata.jpg==

Thank you for uploading File:Micheal sata.jpg. If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion.
