File permission problem with File:Doorway in Safed, Beit Castel gallery, July 2018.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Doorway in Safed, Beit Castel gallery, July 2018.jpg, which you've attributed to Beit Castel gallery. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 20:37, 16 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Frenkel Frenel.jpg

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Frenkel Frenel.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука13 12:43, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Additionally you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Israel and Palestine

Hi, please seek to inform yourselves on previous discussion in a talk page before jumping to erroneous conclusions.

You seem to have an anti-Palestinian bias. Remember that the article presents a clearly subjective view which is presented as such and is not inherently true. No editor is “assert[ing]” that a genocide is being committed, merely stating that some people and peoples say that it is. Please explain why it “is very possible that it was written with the intention of influencing people's opinions on the war between Hamas and Israel”. Let’s read the article, I will bolden the parts which state that it is merely a view, not a 100% true fact:

“Genocide against Palestinians is a characterization of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict which argues that Israel has carried out and/or is carrying out some kind of genocide against the Palestinian population, sometimes related to the view that Israel is a settler colonial state. The view also includes the belief that the system with which Israel governs the Palestinians is one of racial segregation and apartheid. The characterization has been rejected by many, but not all, Israelis.

It is presented as an ‘alleged genocide’! How can you not understand this? If you like, you can create an alternate page, e.g ‘Genocide against Israelis’.

I have attempted also to reduce any bias by adding or modifying these phrases:

  • The characterization has been rejected by many, but not all, Israelis.
  • Both Israel and Palestine frequently accuse the other of planning a scheme of genocide.
  • Some Israelis reject the characterization of genocide, likening the accusations to Antisemitism.

I have also added a ‘Rejection of characterization’ section which you can contribute to. If you want to insert some anti-Palestinian stances or other opinions, please add to the article rather than proposing its deletion simply because you do not agree with the allegations. Seek to enact constructive edits, rather than destructive ones. I hope that you reconsider your actions in this regard.

What do you think @Buidhe, @Novo Tape and @Iskandar323 (experienced editors in this matter)?

Nevertheless, I wish you all the best in your editing. Sincerely, Scientelensia (talk) 21:13, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Convention defines genocide as any of five "acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group." These five acts were: killing members of the group, causing them serious bodily or mental harm, imposing living conditions intended to destroy the group, preventing births, and forcibly transferring children out of the group.
Israel does kill members of the group. But those killed are terrorists or operatives seeking to kill Israelis. There is a difference between war/fight against terror and genocide.
Furthermore the Palestinian population has doubled in recent decades and keeps increasing.
If we are talking about alleged genocide then please include alleged in the title, otherwise the title breaches neutrality.
There is no need to write a page called Genocide against Israelis.
Thank you for your time and fruitful editing.
Sincerely, Homerethegreat (talk) 08:03, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I find your misinformation disturbing:
  • A population may increase due to a high birth rate, but also may suffer many frequent deaths that are overshadowed in statistics.
  • Let us read this article by Amnesty which shows that most of the deaths are civilian ones who are not terrorists. If you think that all Palestinians are terrorists, you are perhaps exhibiting a racist or Islamophobic view.
Hamas and other Palestinian armed groups flagrantly violated international law and displayed a chilling disregard for human life by carrying out cruel and brutal crimes including mass summary killings, hostage-taking, and launching indiscriminate rocket attacks into Israel, Amnesty International said today. With evidence still emerging of the horrors that unfolded in southern Israel, Amnesty International will continue its investigations in order to determine the full range of crimes under international law.
In Israel, more than 1,200 people – mostly civilians, including children – have been killed, and 2,400 have been injured since the attacks began in the early morning of 7 October. In Gaza at least 1,200 people, including children, have been killed by Israeli military retaliation. The recently intensified blockade which completely disconnected water, electricity, food and fuel supplies is exacerbating the already catastrophic humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Israel’s blockade amounts to collective punishment which is also a war crime.https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2023/10/israel-palestinian-armed-groups-must-be-held-accountable-for-deliberate-civilian-killings-abductions-and-indiscriminate-attacks/
Thus, these actions also fits: “causing them serious bodily or mental harm, imposing living conditions intended to destroy the group”.
Clearly, Hamas has caused great wrong, but so too has Israel, and on a much larger scale. Please read more to educate yourself. https://apnews.com/article/israel-palestinians-gaza-hamas-war-refugees-6cf0ff04e513ecec12cf9152656ac1b6 Scientelensia (talk) 08:47, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
