The 32nd Cannes Film Festival was held on May 10 - 24. The Palme d'Or went to the Apocalypse Now by Francis Ford Coppola and Die Blechtrommel by Volker Schlöndorff.[3][4]

The festival opened with Hair, directed by Miloš Forman and closed with À nous deux, directed by Claude Lelouch.[5][6]
