Eurosong '02

Eurosong '02 was the Belgian national final for choosing the Belgian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2002.

Format

The selection process involved the staging of five shows; the final on 17 February 2002, plus four semi-finals held during January and early February 2002. All shows were hosted by Bart Peeters at VRT TV Studios in Schelle. The winning song from each semi-final qualified for the final along with the 3 highest scoring runners-up.

In all shows, the results were based on the votes from a seven-member "expert" jury, Radio 2 jury (50% televoting, 50% employees), Radio Donna jury (50% televoting, 50% employees), a European jury from the participating countries in ESC 2002 and televoting. The televote counted for 1/3 of the overall vote, with the other 4 juries counting for 1/6. The members of the "expert" jury are Andrea Croonenberghs, Marcel Vanthilt, Rocco Granata and 4 journalists (of the media stations Radio 2, Donna, TV1 and a European jury).
