Since the Southeast Asian Games began in 1959, it has been held in 15 cities across all Southeast Asian countries except Cambodia and East Timor .

1 – Changed name when Brunei, the Philippines, & Indonesia were admitted.2 – It was the first time in SEAGF history that a non-capital city hosted the biennial sports event.3 – It was the first time in SEAGF history that the game venues were assigned into some cities, namely Hanoi and other locales hosting the games were Hai Phong , Hải Dương , Nam Định , Ninh Bình , Phú Thọ , Vĩnh Phúc , Bắc Ninh , and Hòa Bình .4 – Other locales that hosted the games are several cities within Metro Manila , Los Baños , Calamba , Cebu City , Bacolod , Angeles , and Subic .5 – The city of Chonburi and Bangkok were among the places where the 24th SEA Games were held.6 – Palembang is the main host for the games, Jakarta is the supporting co-host.7 – There is no designated host city for marketing purposes. The opening ceremony will be held in Bocaue , Bulacan , while the will be held at New Clark City in the town of Capas , Tarlac . Several other localities will host the games including the towns and cities of the Clark Special Economic Zone (Angeles, Mabalacat, Capas), Metro Manila , the towns and cities of the Subic Freeport Zone , as well as the provinces of Batangas and La Union , and the city of Tagaytay .Hosting tally
