The Kanchanjunga Express is an express train belonging to Eastern Railway zone that runs between Sealdah and Agartala in India. It is currently being operated with 13173/13174 train numbers on a 4 days a week basis.[1][2]

It is named after the Kanchanjunga peak of the Himalayan Mountains.

Traction

Both trains are hauled by a Bardhamman Loco Shed based WDM-3A diesel locomotive from Sealdah to Malda Town. From Malda Town train is hauled by a Malda Town Loco Shed based WDM 3A diesel locomotive until Guwahati and vice versa. From Guwahati train is hauled by a Silliguri Loco Shed based WDP-4 diesel locomotive until Agartala and vice versa.

Recently from Sealdah it is being hauled by WAP-4 locomotive of Howrah/MughalSarai shed up to Malda Town. From thereon diesel loco takes over as usual.

Rake Sharing

The train shares its rake with 13175/13176 Sealdah - Silchar Kanchenjunga Express.
