Self-Referencing

[edit]

When I expand the entry "WikiProject Dogs", I get:

[–] WikiProject Dogs
304 undefined:
[+] Dogs articles by importance
[+] Dogs articles by quality
[+] WikiProject Dogs
[+] WikiProject Dogs Members

with the "304" and all the "[+]" in red. I thought Categories weren't supposed to self-reference themselves? How do we go about fixing this? Gordon | Talk, 14:25, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid I'm not really sure what the question is. The WikiProject Dogs page mentioned in the category is the Project page, not the category page. Also, categories of this type are fairly common for most of the larger projects. I think I actually took the design from Wikipedia:WikiProject Virginia, so I thought that it was fairly reasonably formed. It isn't technically self-referencing, because the category of WPDogs is not itself a member of the category. I think. If my answer is insufficient, or if I somehow misconstrued the question, please let me know. Badbilltucker 17:06, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I wasn't looking closely. I think it's fixed now. Badbilltucker 17:33, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks mate. It looks good now, the organisation is nifty. Alas, I come across quite a lot of Cat pages with the 304 and [+] all in red. Gordon | Talk, 13:09, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
