Fatehpur is a village in Bhulath Tehsil in Kapurthala district of Punjab State, India. It is located 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) from Bhulath, 33 kilometres (21 mi) away from district headquarter Kapurthala. The village is administrated by a sarpanch, an elected representative of the village.[2]

Demography

According to the report published by Census India in 2011,Fatehpur has 48 houses with the total population of 239 persons of which 128 are male and 111 females. Literacy rate of Fatehpur is 79.72%, higher than the state average of 75.84%. The population of children in the age group 0–6 years is 27 which is 11.30% of the total population. Child sex ratio is approximately 500, lower than the state average of 846.[3]

As per census 2011, 79 people were engaged in work activities out of the total population of Fatehpur which includes 76 males and 3 females. According to census survey report 2011, 93.67% workers (Employment or Earning more than 6 Months) describe their work as main work and 6.33% workers are involved in Marginal activity providing livelihood for less than 6 months.
