The overall list of league positions of 68 participant football clubs since the establishment of Süper Lig in 1959 are as follows:[8] In 1959 season no matches played for classification of league positions. Only final matches between group winners Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray are considered. Also in 1962-63 season there is no classification for the relegated clubs. Therefore, when calculating average position clubs with no rank are not counted.
