Jawalapur is a village in Kapurthala district of Punjab State, India. It is located 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) from Kapurthala, which is both district and sub-district headquarters of Jawalapur. The village is administrated by a sarpanch, an elected representative of the village.[2]

Demography

According to the report published by Census India in 2011, Jawalapur has 62 houses with the total population of 309 persons of which 168 are male and 141 females. Literacy rate of Jawalapur is 78.06%, higher than the state average of 75.84%. The population of children in the age group 0–6 years is 31 which is 10.03% of the total population. Child sex ratio is approximately 824, lower than the state average of 846.[3]
