KRKS-FM (94.7 FM) is a radio station that broadcasts a Christian talk format. Licensed to Lafayette, Colorado, it serves the Denver-Boulder area. The station is owned and operated by the Salem Media Group. Its studios are located in Aurora, and the transmitter is located west of Boulder.

History

94.7 FM signed on the air in 1975 as KBVL. In 1988, Adams Communications assumed control of the station from Sterling Radio. The format would become KHIH/"Smooth Jazz 94-7". Noble Communications would purchase KHOW-AM & KHIH-FM in 1993. Salem Communications would purchase KHIH from Noble in 1994. Salem, primarily a company that operates Christian stations, would drop the Smooth Jazz format in September 1994 for its current format.
