Kamuthi Solar Power Project is a solar photovoltaic power generating station at Kamuthi, 90 km from Madurai, in the state of Tamil Nadu, India.[1] This project has been commissioned by Adani Power.[2]

With a generating capacity of 648 MW at a single location[3] it is billed as the world's largest single location solar project.[4] The project was completed on 21 September 2016[5] with an investment of around ₹ 4,550 crore. The solar plant consists of 2,500,000 solar modules and 27,000 metres of structures. It consist of 576 inverters and 154 transformer and almost 7500 km of cables.[6][7][8]

Panels occupy 1270 acres of land. 30,000 tonnes of galvanised steel were used. About 8500 personnel worked on average installing about 11 MW in a day to set up the plant in stipulated time.
