Macedonia, presented in the contest as FYR Macedonia[1] participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 and selected their entry through a national final, organised by the Macedonian broadcaster MKRTV.

National Selection 2012

On 19 November 2011, MKRTV announced its participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku with the announcement of Kaliopi as Macedonian entrant.[2] Kaliopi was selected to represent Macedonia in 1996 with the song "Samo ti", but the country failed to qualify for that edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, held in Oslo.

The song was selected internally.[3]

At Eurovision

Macedonia competed in the second slot of the second semi-final on 24 May. Macedonia qualified for the final for the first time since 2007, and performed in slot 22 in the final on the 26th of May. They eventually finished in 13th place. [4]
