The Russian Federation is divided into 83 subjects (subyekty), of which 46 are oblasts (Russian: Области; "provinces", sing. oblast). Here 7.Chita Oblast was made a Krai of Russia as it shares its border with China and Mongolia, and is no more an Oblast.
