Passan is a village in Kapurthala district of Punjab State, India. It is located 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) from Kapurthala, which is both district and sub-district headquarters of Passan. The village is administrated by a sarpanch, an elected representative of the village.[2]

Demography

According to the report published by Census India in 2011, Passan has 10 houses with total population of 62 persons of which 32 are male and 30 females. Literacy rate of Passan is 45.10%, lower than the state average of 75.84%. The population of children in the age group 0–6 years is 11 which is 17.74% of total population. Child sex ratio is approximately 1200, higher than the state average of 846.[3]
