Oppose Amadou Hampâté Bâ has more views (72,167) than the 1961 one (33,229), the footballer has 14,111, Amadou Dia Ba has 17,272, Amadou Ba-Sy has 879 and the 1892 one has 567. Crouch, Swale (talk) 20:02, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK I see "Hampâté" isn't a middle name as I though but the 1961 politician doesn't have a clear lead in views (which is surprising for a current politician) even largely discounting Hampâté and I'd expect some readers would expect Hampâté is a middle name and use just "Amadou Ba" when looking for Hampâté. What if we were to perform the move per request and put a hatnote like {{for-multi|the Malian writer and historian|Amadou Hampâté Bâ|other people named Amadou Ba|Amadou Ba (disambiguation)}} at the top of Amadou Ba (politician, born 1961)? Support per nom. Historical significance, as well as the fact that the page for the 1961 politician has been around for a lot less time than Amadou Hampate Ba and has already accrued half the views, indicating that it will likely surmount Hampate Ba in the near future. Support. As a national leader, long-term significance is always likely to lean in his favour, and recent page views show that he has a sizeable lead over anyone else. All in all seems fairly straightforward. — Amakuru (talk) 13:45, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
