Proposed for deletion
[edit]As of 2013-03-31, there are only 3 references to support the article and are all insufficient to establish notability, particularly worldwide notability, due to lack/questionable independence of sources.
1. Sanchez, Bo. "Why I Look Like Tom Cruise". BoSanchez.ph --> Not an independent source (personal website of article subject)
2. Manahan, Ruben (December 7, 2006). "Inspirational writer wins TOYM". The Manila Times. --> Not an independent source nor verifiable: Ruben Manahan (ph.linkedin.com/pub/ruben-manahan-iii/4b/35/383) is known as a press release writer which puts the independence of supposed reference in question. Further, the existence of the reference is hard to validate and cannot be found on the main page of the Manila Times (http://web.archive.org/web/20061206112332/http://www.manilatimes.net/). On the very least, the absence on the front page indicates a lack of local notability.
3. Manibo, Medilyn (August 13, 2007). "Light House EO organizes personal finance seminars for Filipinos in the UAE". AME Info. --> Reference source clearly indicates on the page that it is a press release and thus of questionable independence. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 180.194.239.208 (talk) 21:07, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
- Per policy this article cannot be nominated for deletion via the proposed deletion process, as it has been discussed at Articles for deletion in the past. If you wish to nominate this article for deletion again, it needs to go back to AfD. —KuyaBriBriTalk 21:57, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
- Submitting article for deletion instead on the same grounds of lack of notability and verifiable sources. Due diligence had been done to find for sources to support the article. However, no independent sources can be found as of 2013-04-04 in Google News and Google News Archive in at least the first two pages of search results as they're all either directly connected to the subject or are press releases. Also, notability had been challenged since 2008 and there had been no improvement in the article with regard to notability in the last 5 years. Shimofuri mu (talk) 16:15, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
- Done. I have completed the nomination, which may now be found at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bo Sanchez (2nd nomination). Note that I just copied your rationale; if you wish to reference the analysis from the IP editor, above, you're gonna want to comment at the afd. UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 16:46, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
Second nomination for AfD
[edit]After I had raised the second nomination for AfD, Lenticel made major edits to address the issues on lack of sources, notability, and poor quality of the article. However, the article still does not meet notability requirements and should be deleted.
From WP:BIO: "the person who is the topic of a biographical article should be 'worthy of notice' – that is, 'significant, interesting, or unusual enough to deserve attention or to be recorded' ". What appears to be the basis for notability are the claims on the subject being distinctly known as the "Preacher in Blue Jeans" and as a "best-selling author".
- "Preacher in Blue Jeans"
- Two sources were offered for support: 4th and 5th on the reference list. Quoting from the earliest source (4th), dated 2007-04-04, "Sanchez has been dubbed 'Preacher in Blue Jeans' ". Was the subject really named by people as such ("dubbed") or is it a self-promotion name? The website preacherinbluejeans.com is directly associated with the subject and the earliest existing snapshot is from 2006-12-10. DNS registration records indicate that the domain had been registered by the same registrant since 2006-10-29. Without a valid source earlier than 2006-10-29, the epithet should be considered self-promotion.
- "best-selling author"
- First source in reference list was offered for support and dated 2006-04-07. Two issues here: a) the source is not valid, and b) being a "best-selling author" on its own does not establish notability.
- Independence of the source is questionable as it seems to be a collection of press releases. Further, it is indiscriminate (note that the source title has no relation at all to the subject) which is a poor indicator of notability. The subject is a "best-selling" author according to whom?
- Popularity is not the primary indicator of notability. "Best-selling" is a claim for popularity but not for notability.
- Something of note with the source: it is earlier than 2006-10-29 but didn't mention the ephitet of "Preacher in Blue Jeans".
- Shimofuri mu (talk) 21:42, 6 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the insights. But aren't you ignoring the rest of the refs? The person was awarded with an internationally recognized award fulfilling WP:ANYBIO. Sanchez is also a media personality in a television station and a radio station so he fulfils WP:ENT--Lenticel (talk) 08:58, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
- I've also added another award, the highest attainable for a lay person from the CMMA.--Lenticel (talk) 09:45, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

- What are the parts of the article the looks like a press release? --Lenticel (talk) 08:58, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

huge list of books.
[edit]The list here is too long. Does anyone object if I trim it to a more suitable size? Which books are notable enough to remain? Spacecowboy420 (talk) 11:13, 9 June 2017 (UTC)
- From the lack of response, I assume that no one cares, therefore it's trimming time. Spacecowboy420 (talk) 11:32, 22 June 2017 (UTC)
