The result of the move request was: All moved — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 20:18, 23 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

– Not WP:COMMONNAME. From the sources used in these articles, none of them are referred to by their full names (Moreno, García etc.). Anyone who searches for any one of these famous people (e.g. a West Ham fan) is unlikely to know what their full names are in the Spanish custom rule. Iggy (Swan) 20:22, 13 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It's a common mistake, don't worry about it :-) - just thought I should point it out before the RM was closed and the move made. Richard3120 (talk) 19:24, 14 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Note: This discussion has been included in WikiProject Football's list of association football-related page moves. GiantSnowman 11:33, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Shouldn't we go by WP:COMMONNAME, though, where the second surname is rarely used in news articles and everyday speech in Spanish-speaking countries? Richard3120 (talk) 15:03, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

– I think there should now be some consistency in naming all these Carlos Sánchez's on Wikipedia now there are two of them who are Spanish, hence one of them was retitled due to incomplete dab. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 21:55, 6 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
