Although news sources report that Bill Langstroth was 81 years old when he died, this reliable source http://www.ccma.org/halloffame/profile.cfm?AwardID=852 (the Canadian Country Music Association website) reports his date of birth as November 5, 1930 - which would make him 82 at time of death. Ref (chew)(do) 15:14, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Langstroth's death was made public by his friend and fellow musician Ron MacNutt, who also had been working with Langstroth recently. In one published story MacNutt is quoted saying "As an 81-year-old he was very full of life".[1] I'd say it is not clear from the available sources exactly how old he was, so it might be best to go with the more commonly reported age of 81. Since he does not have his own Wikipedia page he'll probably be removed from the list in 30 days, so it's not worth worrying too much about. 99.192.58.222 (talk) 00:39, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Inaccuracies should never be dismissed so lightly. It's a plank of Wikipedia that it is an accurate information vessel. I had a look at the link - it is from an established musical organisation (so reliable), and gives a birthdate (so a reliable source) - taking a backdoor route to establish references, via a "quote" in a published story (stories can be fictional or non-fictional) is a much less valuable way to go. But hey. If you want to ignore published birthdates, carry on. Ref (chew)(do) 18:46, 6 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
(And the "list" will be archived into a fully accessible permarecord by month-and-year within Wikipedia - it does not become invisible! So inaccuracies get "carried over" unless challenged.) Ref (chew)(do) 18:57, 6 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This person died on May 5, not May 4. B-Machine (talk) 14:56, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There is discussion on-going with that. The sources say he died Saturday night in his sleep http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-me-dean-jeffries-20130509,0,340435.story. Others are saying that since he wasnt found until Sunday morning that that should count. I will stick with the LA Times until someone can come up with a better timeline source wise.Sunnydoo (talk) 08:50, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Another Strange Death

[edit]

I came across this one tonight. Dont try this at home: http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/467900/20130515/man-sweden-dies-sex-hornet-s-nest.htm Sunnydoo (talk) 01:49, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Jeepster

[edit]

If there are any Kiwis or Aussies out there that would like to write a patriotic article, Jeepster (a horse) who won an Olympic Gold Medal in 2000 and also represented Australia in the 2004 Olympics passed away from lymphoma at 26 years old. http://horsetalk.co.nz/2013/05/16/olympic-gold-medalist-jeepster-dies-26/#axzz2TPu7Jf8V He has to have an article before he can be added to the list.Sunnydoo (talk) 02:33, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

King Artus

[edit]

As for Jeepster, the German horse King Artus has died. He won the gold medal for Germany in 2012 at the London games. He passed away during a competition of what is believed to have been an aortic tear. http://horsetalk.co.nz/2013/05/19/gold-medalist-king-artus-dies-wiesbaden-cross-country/#axzz2ThnHiniJ http://horsetalk.co.nz/2012/08/01/germany-wins-olympic-team-eventing-gold/#axzz2ThnHiniJ Sunnydoo (talk) 03:35, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
