[edit]@Wanderwrite: I see you're trying to update this entry. However, in doing so, you're introducing some unacceptable sources and other errors. Please do not use an organization's website to verify specific claims, as Wikipedia relies on secondary coverage such as newspapers for fact-checking. You might consider identifying issues with the current text, and proposing changes with helpful sources here on the Talk page, instead of editing the article directly.

Requested move 9 August 2022
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: moved. per WP:NAMECHANGES, we can give extra weight to sources using the name after the change. CNN isn't independent as it is co-authored by a member of the org, but I see no issue with the other source, and the URL being redirected doesn't hurt. Dream Corps → Dream.org – The organization has announced a rebrand to Dream.org: https://dream.org/news-articles/329/ and the prior website thedreamcorps.org now redirects to dream.org Wanderwrite (talk) 15:55, 9 August 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. – robertsky (talk) 02:09, 17 August 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. – robertsky (talk) 15:07, 24 August 2022 (UTC)

Proposed revision to the introduction
[edit]Dream.org is a non-profit founded by American social change entrepreneur Van Jones[1] that aims to “close prison doors and open doors of opportunity,”[2][3] specifically by finding common ground on mass incarceration, climate change, and economic inequality. Previously known as The Dream Corps, it has three primary programs – TECH, JUSTICE, and GREEN FOR ALL – each of which were once standalone organizations[4][5]Cite error: A <ref>
tag is missing the closing </ref>
(see the help page).[6][7][8]. Wanderwrite (talk) 16:14, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- I think this proposed lead may be too colorful for an encyclopedia. It leans too heavily on quotes, qualifiers ("social change entrepreneur" reads as unnecessary, simply "entrepreneur" would suffice), and the uppercase programs don't add much to the article. The point of the lead is to summarize the article and present the topic, which the current lead does just fine. This proposal strays too close to WP:NPOV, possibly even promotion, as it is.
