Edit request: Infobox updates

[edit]

Hello, I'm here to offer some suggested updates to the article, beginning with the infobox. Below I posted a draft infobox in addition to the markup. First, a little housekeeping. I propose these edits on behalf of Gigamon, working with agency Merritt Group through my work at Beutler Ink. I will keep my Wikipedia contributions where I have a financial conflict of interest on Talk pages rather than directly edit entries.

In my proposed infobox, I have included the Russell 2000 and Russell 3000 components under Traded as; replaced the external link to the Gigamon website's Products page with a list of four Gigamon products; replaced outdated, historical revenue figures with 2016 revenue; and updated the number of employees.

Danilo Two, thank you for your suggestions. You did not attach the correct form for citing revenue. The form you linked to was Form 10K/A, which only contained executive compensation. The data were on the unamended form 10K. Altamel (talk) 19:15, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, Altamel. When I cited the Form 10-K/A for revenue, I was specifically looking at the 2016 business highlights on the 10-K/A. If you go here, you can scroll down to page number 18, or click the link "Page 20" on the left. But I'm happy to use the Form 10-K as you posted. Would you mind deleting |page=18 from the reference formatting as not to confuse readers? Thank you, again! Danilo Two (talk) 16:17, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request: History updates

[edit]

Hello, I'm here with another request. Below I posted a draft for the History section in addition to the markup. In my proposed History, I added a small amount of detail about Gigamon's IPO and that the company rang the closing bell of the New York Stock Exchange in 2016. You will notice the draft does not include the sentence about Gigamon moving from Milpitas, California, to Santa Clara, California. My suggestion is to move that detail to an Operations section draft I'm working on. If reviewing editors think that it should remain in History, that works, too. As I said previously on this Talk page: I propose these edits on behalf of Gigamon, working with agency Merritt Group through my work at Beutler Ink. I will keep my Wikipedia contributions where I have a financial conflict of interest on Talk pages rather than directly edit entries.

Draft History
History
Gigamon was founded in 2004 as Gigamon Systems, LLC.[1][2] The company went public on the New York Stock Exchange on June 11, 2013.[3] During the initial public offering on June 12, 2013, investors bought 6.75 million shares priced at $19 each, generating $128 million in sales.[4][5] Gigamon officials rang the closing bell of the New York Stock Exchange on February 24, 2016.[6][7]

Edit request: Operations

[edit]

Hello, While my request above awaits response, I figured it worthwhile to post this one as well. That way editors can see how my suggestions will fit together. Following my proposed History, I hope editors will consider implementing this Operations section, which briefly outlines Gigamon's number of employees, offices, governance and executives, and a snapshot of its customer base.

Draft Operations
Operations

In the fall of 2013, the company moved from Milpitas, California, to Santa Clara.[1] As of 2017, the company has 743 people[2] and sales offices in the U.S., Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, India, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, United Kingdom, and United Arab Emirates.[3]

The company is governed by a board of directors, whose chairman is Corey M. Mulloy.[4] Gigamon's executive officers include Chief Executive Officer Paul Hooper, Chief Financial Officer Rex Jackson, Chief Technical Officer Shehzad Merchant, and Chief Marketing Officer Kim DeCarlis.[4]

As of December 2016, Gigamon had 2,300 end-user customers, including 81 of Fortune 100 and 418 Fortune 1000 companies.[5] Gigamon is involved in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation project.[6]

Edit request: Products updates

[edit]

Hello, While my other requests await feedback, I am posting my remaining section drafts. This way, editors can see my proposal in its entirety. Below is the draft and markup to update and expand Products. The existing Products section is one sentence; my draft expands on the existing material slightly to give readers some additional detail on the products. All of the detail I propose is cited, and it is my hope that Wikipedia editors will feel it is written with a WP:NPOV.

Draft Products
Products

Gigamon develops cloud, virtual and physical technologies for enterprises to secure, manage and assess their networks. These include network TAP and aggregation products, traffic manipulation applications and visibility fabric nodes,[1][2] which can be configured to manipulate and route network traffic to security and compliance tools.[3]

Its products include GigaSECURE, a security delivery platform that can detect, contain and remediate threats.[4] GigaVUE is a visibility platform that helps manage networks.[4] Gigamon's traffic intelligence applications fall under its GigaSMART suite.[5] Gigamon also offers its Visibility Platform for Amazon Web Services.[6]
