What CNN says
[edit]...published as a book, called "Federal Triangle," a parody about political life in Washington.
...correspondent for Newsweek magazine eventually ... as chief congressional correspondent.
...Borger graduated from Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y., where she has served on the board of trustees. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.20.177.193 (talk) 01:28, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
Factual issues to be addressed
[edit]CNN has observed what they believe are factual errors in this article. They take the position (which I applaud) that they should not directly edit the article. I hope some editors will support the desired approach and check into these issues soon.
Thanks.
- "As of March 22, 2010, she also has a perch on the new John King, USA
show" (As her official CNN bio states http://www.cnn.com/CNN/anchors_reporters/borger.gloria.html, Gloria appears across the CNN network, on various platforms. She does not have a specific position on John King's program.)
- "She worked previously as a political correspondent for NBC News, a
special correspondent with CBS News" (Neither are true. As her CNN bio states: Borger was formerly CBS News' national political correspondent and a contributor to CBS's Face the Nation, 60 Minutes II and the network's special events coverage. From 2002-2004, she was the co-anchor of CNBC's Capital Report.)
- "with a degree in Journalism" (Gloria graduated with a degree in
English)
- "Though he did end the interview shortly after being questioned about
the newsletters, he did not bolt out as the edited video insinuated" (The video did not insinuate any conclusion. This line is false and we request that it be removed.)--SPhilbrick(Talk) 18:45, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
- I made some changes, using RS. I can't change the major, as I cannot find a source, maybe someone else can, so I removed it. I removed some OR which crept in. --SPhilbrick(Talk) 15:38, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

Please add a tab for Pewdiepie's Charecter Gloria Borger MalcolmEdwardson(phd) (talk) 00:00, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
- Not done: @MalcolmEdwardson(phd): We'll need some reliable sources that discuss the character, that it is an homage or parody of Borger, and that it's well-known and frequently discussed. —C.Fred (talk) 00:03, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
- I agree the frequency this topic has been brought up deserves to be referenced. I added a Popular Media section while trying to be as objective as possible, with 62 million subscribers on Pewdiepie's channel it is undeniably popular. I believe with the addition of this section, it should now deter possible vandalism in the future. Pls discuss. Change "Borger shares the name with a fictional character who is also news anchor created by Felix Kjellberg for a series on his YouTube channel called Pew News." to "Borger shares the name with a fictional character who is also news anchor created by Felix Kjellberg for a series on his YouTube channel, Pewdiepie. This series is called Pew News." This makes it a bit easier to read. ErikWikipedia (talk) 05:31, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
- I have copyedited this section more appropriately. I would like to note that there is only one non-primary source asserting the notability of this trivia (links to PewDiePie's YouTube posts are meaningless in this case), but Newsweek is probably respectable enough to warrant the inclusion of this information. Though I'm not 100% convinced that this trivia is worthy of a BLP.— TAnthonyTalk 16:11, 25 May 2018 (UTC)

she used for Pew News. Though she doesn't work there much anymore, but she makes certain guest appearances. Please add this too the last. 104.37.210.218 (talk) 16:12, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- Not done. You know very well that the real Gloria Borger does not contribute to Pew News, it's just a jokey use of her name. Thanks.— TAnthonyTalk 17:17, 2 January 2019 (UTC)

Not to be confused with THE Gloria Borger, the host on pew news, one of the most trused news source, along side poppy Harlow, she presents the most important news to pewdiepies channel. 208.98.223.68 (talk) 17:42, 8 February 2019 (UTC)

Pew News
[edit]This article has been protected several times because of persistent disruption related to this Pewdiepie business. It's now protected until August 2019 because a lot of people seem to be confused by the fact that THE REAL GLORIA BORGER DOES NOT CONTRIBUTE TO PEW NEWS, it's merely a jokey use of her name that even Pewdiepie has disassociated with the real person. Several different editors have removed the Pewdiepie passage as useless trivia (per the edit summaries). It was removed for the last time here. The latest version was:
YouTuber Felix "PewDiePie" Kjellberg comedically portrays a news anchor named Gloria Borger in a segment he calls "Pew News".[1] Kjellberg has disassociated his portrayal from the real Borger.[2]

I do not believe this info belongs in this BLP. However, I encourage those who do to engage in a discussion here, rather than edit war or submit endless semi-protected edit requests with no valid arguments in favor. Thanks.— TAnthonyTalk 19:24, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
I, admittedly, am in no way familiar with Pew News, but I am baffled as to why there are hatnotes for the "fictional characters" of several CNN reporters. There aren't similar notes directing people to the actors who portray Alex Trebek or Kellyanne Conway on Saturday Night Live. Is Pew News so influential that these hatnotes are appropriate?
