Gunther MatzingerGünther Matzinger – BLP accuracy, per the Austrian athlete's own website and per full font-enabled English sources. Per WP:AT "Søren Kierkegaard," WP:UE "German for German politicians", WP:EN "Tomás Ó Fiaich, not Tomas O'Fiaich" WP:MOSPN "Paul Erdős", WP:NCP "Antoni Gaudí," examples. • Oppose per reliable English sources 123456789. kornspitz.com and OPEC are German source not ENGLISH and have not been translate properly. Also his website is in... Oh Wait.... German! Therefore not an English reliable source and since this is the ENGLISH Wikipedia it should not be used as a grounds to be moved. Disability expert (talk) 09:51, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. Kornspitz.com which you removed from the article was actually in English. It is the athlete's sponsor. The question is whether those html sources meet WP:IRS for fonts, since they all seem to be basic 26 letter ASCII html:

The reliability of a source depends on context. Each source must be carefully weighed to judge whether it is reliable for the statement being made in the Wikipedia article and is an appropriate source for that content.

For this reason we normally look for sources that can display fonts [such as "Austrian Sport Award" by Jasmin Ouschan on Fast Athlete Beat] rather than ones that don't. That way, as with the Kornspitz.com English webpage, "Günther" would appear as "Günther" in the New York Times or the Economist. In ictu oculi (talk) 23:24, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Where's the policy cos it sounds like you're making crap up. Secondly with Korn I removed it because it seemed to link to a list of articles rather than a specific article and in any case is not a source. Whether it's reliable is secondary since the article has seem to been lost. Disability expert (talk) 12:05, 13 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support common practice per guidelines cited above. Subject has no significant English footprint that would establish an alternate spelling as COMMONNAME. Interestingly at the last paraolympics the wikiproject was in favour of using diacritics despite the ioc and tabloid inability to display them. Agathoclea (talk) 17:18, 13 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Firstly get your organisations right. Do the International Olympic Committee run the Paralympics? I would call the IPC and several other (at least 8 or 9) English sources all using this name as significant. All other sources are non English sources, its not exactly like there's only one English source. Which is exactly what AT asks people to do "use reliable English-language sources." So the move is moot and null and the IOC and the tabolids you quote are not inept the only thing inept is the failure to use and respect English Language sources. • Support. The subject is primarily notable for activities in or on behalf of Austria where his name is spelt "Günther". Wikipedia does not normally strip diacritics from names in such cases. —  AjaxSmack  21:05, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
