Other Pubs[edit]

Most soaps have "another" pub. I am sure Eastenders has "another pub" called the "Feathers" or "Fevvers" that you have to go to if you get barred from the Queen Vic, but I can't find a reference.Streona (talk) 23:15, 6 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

List of fictional pubsList of fictional drinking establishments – According to Talk:Pub#UK-centric, a pub is a British speciality, the global concept is called a drinking establishment. This article lists entries from outside the UK too, so it should be moved to "List of fictional drinking establishments". JIP | Talk 14:47, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Vick and Comet - Get Carter[edit]

This is not a fictional pub. It was the nickname of a real pub, The Victoria Comet (more commonly nicknamed the Spit and Vomit), located opposite the main entrance to Newcastle Central Station. It went through a few name changes over the years, most recently, O'Neills. In 2014 it acquired New owners and was reopened in December 2014 again as the Victoria Comet.

A very large number of these are NOT bars or pubs[edit]

A very large number of these are NOT bars or pubs, they are restaurants or cafes. This list really should be trimmed of those. Softlavender (talk) 05:25, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If you know which ones are restaurants or cafés, please remove them. –anemoneprojectors– 12:38, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I gave it a start. The trouble is, there are lots more. It's almost as if this were an article whose title used to include cafes, restaurants, and so forth, and then it got re-titled. Because I can't think of any other explanation for why all of these cafes and pizza parlors and restaurants and hotels would be in here. Softlavender (talk) 13:10, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I've been following this page since 2010 when there were only 8 entries on the list. I don't know how it got so bad. More references would be helpful - only three items are currently referenced. Maybe like List of soap opera villains, we should insist on a reference for everything, and anything unreferenced should be removed. –anemoneprojectors– 13:59, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
My advice: Remove from the article every item that does not have its own Wikipedia article. This is common procedure for all Wikipedia list articles. The lists are for NOTABLE items, and having a Wikipedia article is the determinant of notability for such list articles. Also, when the list retains only items that have a Wikipedia article, we can tell whether those that are ambiguously named are bars/pubs or not by consulting the wiki article. If you agree to this plan, I can do this along with you. One of us could start at the top of the article, and one of us could start at the bottom. That way, we would be most efficient. NB: fictional establishments that have the same name as the title of the piece (example: Cheers in the sitcom Cheers), should stay, and simply be un-italicized, like that, because it is not necessary or likely that those eponymous items will get their own fork articles. Softlavender (talk) 00:06, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I would personally prefer to see sources added, and remove the items for which references cannot be found, rather than just delete everything that doesn't have its own Wikipedia article. For example, The Drunken Clam in Family Guy doesn't have an article, but is certainly well known and quite notable for its inclusion in the list. See WP:NLISTITEM, WP:LISTN and WP:LSC for more information. List of triplets is another example of a list where every item doesn't necessarily have a Wikipedia article but is referenced to a reliable source. –anemoneprojectors– 08:52, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
OK, who is going to find and add the sources? And who is going to remove the unsourced, and when? Softlavender (talk) 09:01, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Idea #2: If the item is not mentioned in the article on the piece it supposedly appears in, it probably isn't notable enough to mention here (and to determine whether it's actually a pub or bar if not identifiable as one by name would also be trouble). Therefore I suggest those could go (unless they are in sufficiently famous pieces such as The Sopranos). Softlavender (talk) 09:54, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
My answers to the questions of who and when are whoever wants to and whenever they want to. The second idea might also work, but this is Wikipedia, and Wikipedia does require reliable sources. Wikipedia itself cannot be used to reference other Wikipedia articles. The core content policies here are neutral point of view (not a problem in this article), no original research (potentially a problem in this article), and verifiability (definitely a problem in this article). That's why we (someone) should find reliable sources. –anemoneprojectors– 13:52, 13 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

On the face of it "Bo Ling Chop Suey Palace" is a restaurant or a take away or both. I don't know as the series has not to my knowledge been screened in the UK. A bar is a place for drinking (including alcoholic drinks) unless it is qualified by some other word e.g. "coffee bar." A pub is primarily for drinking although many serve food. Nowadays many cater primarily for diners it must always be possible just to go in for a drink. Can someone who has seen the series confirm this is a bar or pub or remove it? Similarly are Bob's Country Bunker later renamed Bob's Country Kitchen in the sequel Bodarks Bus Stop Restaurant and Burger Cat bars or pubs?Spinney Hill (talk) 08:52, 29 March 2020 (UTC)Spinney Hill (talk) 09:00, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In the linked articles Cooper's,Crab Shack and Dante's are described as restaurants. Is this a club or a bar or neither? The same should be asked of Corrado.Spinney Hill (talk) 08:51, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Are The Grind & Jolt Cafe and Gus's Galaxy Grill pubs or bars? The names do not sound like it? Spinney Hill (talk) 08:57, 1 April 2020 (UTC) Is the Mystic Grill a bar or pub or neither?Spinney Hill (talk) 08:40, 4 April 2020 (UTC) Are the Palace Royale, and Pedro McKinnon and Pie Hole really pubs or bars or something else (dance hall or restaurant? If the Palace does qualify for this list shouldn't it be spelt"Palais"? The article on the film spells it that way and since Royale is spelt in the French way Palais ought to be as well, unless it is a deliberate mistake in the film.Spinney Hill (talk) 09:22, 6 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Are Sally Lund's cafe and the Talon really bars or pubs or neither?Spinney Hill (talk) 08:19, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Aigburth Arms[edit]

The Aigburth Arms was most definitely a real pub in Liverpool, so should not be on this list.81.174.162.70 (talk) 15:13, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
