Name
[edit]I think his first name is Qing Hua not Qinghua. So should we change the article name? FinnishF1Fan (talk) 08:48, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
- The chinese wiki page lists him as Ma Qing Hua, so I think you're right on that one, it should be changed. BosleyTree (talk) 10:45, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
- I agree, noting that "Ma Qing Hua" returns 770,000 ghits compared to 10,550 for "Ma Qinghua". DH85868993 (talk) 14:31, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
- If everyone agrees then i'll move it over then? BosleyTree (talk) 19:24, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
- Go for it, no one seems to disagree. FinnishF1Fan (talk) 16:17, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
- I'd love to but unfortunately the name is already taken, well according to wikipedia it is. Only other suggestion i can think of is added (racing driver) to the end but wouldn't that be too much. BosleyTree (talk) 18:55, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
- The page "Ma Qing Hua" is a redirect page to this article. I don't know solution to this. FinnishF1Fan (talk) 22:00, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
- We need to lodge a requested move. I'll do it. DH85868993 (talk) 22:42, 9 September 2012 (UTC)

Ma Qinghua → Ma Qing Hua – Correct name - see discussion at Talk:Ma Qinghua#Name. DH85868993 (talk) 22:42, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
- Actually to leave as it is, Ma Qinghua is more normal style, see Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Chinese), see also China Daily. Cheers. In ictu oculi (talk) 01:26, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose. WP:PINYIN says use pinyin for Chinese-related articles just as the Chinese government does on passports, &c. (see Pinyin: Capitalization and word formation #3 for details) even if this is not always the most common Google usage (cf. Mao Tse-tung vs. Mao Zedong). - Oppose (am I allowed to oppose my own move request?) The driver's official website styles his name as "Ma Qinghua". Wish I'd thought to look there earlier. DH85868993 (talk) 00:52, 11 September 2012 (UTC)

Date of birth
[edit]Sources disagree over his date of birth:
- The WTCR website says 27 December 1987
but
- racing-refernce.info,
- driverdb.com and
- FORIX (subscription site)
all say 25 December 1987. Does anyone have any other sources? DH85868993 (talk) 07:22, 24 December 2022 (UTC)
Upon further research I’m beginning to think the WTCR site has a typo, since it is the only source I can find which claims the 27th. Looking on the website of his team [1] it says the 25th, as well as former teams such as Teamworks Motorsport and of course the sources mentioned above. Although WTCR is official to the championship, it is massively outnumbered and his team claims the 25th, so I now think the 25th is most likely to be correct. - @DRYT.Motorsport: Cool. Thanks for finding those other sources. DH85868993 (talk) 21:51, 24 December 2022 (UTC)
