Running for Congress

[edit]

Sources that she's running for the US Congress in Alabama's 3rd District. Someone should add this information to the Article. I will update it if no one else does, and no one objects, etc. [1] [2]

From Brooklyn?

[edit]

Can someone please explain why she is listed in the category "People from Brooklyn"? Hagan lived in Brooklyn for 4 of her 24 years; she is from Alabama not Brooklyn. Yves Lecastel (talk) 05:24, 16 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Good article nomination on hold

[edit]

This article's Good Article promotion has been put on hold. During review, some issues were discovered that can be resolved without a major re-write. This is how the article, as of April 21, 2013, compares against the six good article criteria:

1. Well written?: Writing is pretty good, I'd recommend a few things:
  1. Put in a request at WP:GOCE for a copyedit, and also put in polite requests to talk pages of relevant WikiProjects for copyeditors.
    Copyedit requests completed.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 16:47, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Split the Background sect into two subsections with Background as the parent sect for that, maybe something like Early life, and then something else.
    Split.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 16:59, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  3. 2013 Miss America pageant - "During the Good Morning America weatherman Sam Champion delivered her question..." this doesn't read quite right.
    Fixed.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 17:02, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
2. Factually accurate?: Duly cited throughout.
3. Broad in coverage?: Feels like it's missing a bit of secondary source commentary or Reception or Perception or comments from the judges or something like that.
The current commentary seems to be mostly about her weight gain.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 17:34, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I see, ugh, nevermind then, no need to include that drivel. — Cirt (talk) 17:40, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Is there a BLP issue here. I see the same issue is no longer included at Jennifer Love Hewitt.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 22:18, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, most likely, it's also pretty trivial info. — Cirt (talk) 23:47, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
4. Neutral point of view?: Neutral presentation throughout, seems okay with this respect.
5. Article stability? Article edit history and talk page history stable.
6. Images?: No images used.

Please address these matters soon and then leave a note here showing how they have been resolved. After 48 hours the article should be reviewed again. If these issues are not addressed within 7 days, the article may be failed without further notice. Thank you for your work so far. — Cirt (talk) 16:23, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Question about that awkward sentence

Passed as GA quality

[edit]

Good job, thanks for the responsiveness to the above GA Review recommendations, — Cirt (talk) 02:12, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

to be compensated for short reign?

[edit]

I have seen a comment today about that in the news. Her reign as Miss America is only 8 months because of the change of pageant date from January back to September. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.63.16.20 (talk) 13:52, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
