On 30 March 2024, it was proposed that this article be moved from Basilica of the Twenty-Six Holy Martyrs of Japan (Nagasaki) to Oura Church. The result of the discussion was moved.

Merge discussion[edit]

As these two articles are about the same building, there is no reason to keep both. I suggest merging Ōura Cathedral into this article. Please indicate your opinion below, along with any reasoning behind it. Thanks!

Support while I'm now for Ōura Catholic Church as its name, but we can discuss it later. There is no good reason to keep two articles on the same topic. --Aphaia (talk) 06:49, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Basilica of the Twenty-Six Holy Martyrs of Japan (Nagasaki) → Oura Church – This is the common name for the building, and is reflected in almost all websites and information brochures such as here, here, here and here. Even Catholic-affiliated websites acknowledge Oura Church as an alternate name for the building, such as here. It would also better adhere to WP:CONCISE.
