Virtues

[edit]

In the Uffizi in Florence in the Pollaiolo room there are 7 virtues, 6 of these virtues have been painted by Pollaiolo. Should this be mentioned or written here?? The 7th virtue is by Botticelli I just mention this 'cause they left quite an impression on me when I went to that museum last year and I have been searching the net from time to time to find them, but since I am looking at wikipedia most of the time I hadn't found them yet. I have seen that one of the virtues is on the works list: Prudence so it should be added up to 6 virtues.

The info I give now is cause I found them at the site of the Uffizi museum under room 9 I started looking there cause I know it was the room before the botticelli room. I hope you can do something with this, I just don't feel confident enough to write about them myself. Rosalind1983 12:06, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Piero del PollaioloPiero del Pollaiuolo – The current article title is inconsistent with that for this artist's brother Antonio del Pollaiuolo, and the spelling with a "u" is the most preferred in English. See, for instance, the Benezit Dictionary of Artists, the Grove Dictionary of Art and this ngram. A complication is that the variation "Piero Pollaiuolo", without the "del", is also in use, but according to the ngram this has been less popular than the proposed version for most years since 2003. Alison Wright's The Pollaiuolo Brothers (2005), which appears to be the most recent monograph on the topic, uses the form "Piero del Pollaiuolo", as do the websites of the National Gallery and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Overall: @Johnbod: Good article. Though, the last paragraph of assigning attributions needs citing. Also, should the works section be cited? Needs QPQ. Onegreatjoke (talk) 21:33, 19 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
