Moved to mainspace by GMH Melbourne (talk). Nominated by ObserveOwl (talk) at 08:21, 14 December 2023 (UTC). Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/Sarah McCreanor; consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.[reply]

I like it, but that fact alone wasn't directly supported by the article (it just states that the series is called "Hydraulic Press Girl"). The hook I suggested focuses on her acting in commercials, which is mentioned. I've now added that fact to the article and support the alt hook. @ObserverOwl: Technically the BoingBoing article on the page specifically calls her Hydraulic Press Girl. BuySomeApples (talk) 02:53, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I just didn't add that fact to the article at the time of nomination. The Sydney Morning Herald says that "On YouTube, she is known as Hydraulic Press Girl", so I used this source to verify that. ObserveOwl (chit-chatmy doings) 07:01, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Firstly, the "controversy" section arguably has BLP issues. Secondly I am inclined to agree with Narutolovehinata5's implication that the "70 commercials" clause in ALT0 is superfluous, distracting and not very interesting. Gatoclass (talk) 01:03, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yea, I had lots of doubts about that section. I left it for the AfC reviewer to see if it was OK. I see that Tamzin removed the alleged identity of the accused, so was that enough to follow BLP? Again, I support ALT1. ObserveOwl (chit-chatmy doings) 08:08, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I think the BLP issue has been resolved now, but my concern is with the hooks, that make her sound like a salesperson for hydraulic presses. Not sure what to do about that. I've noticed in the sources that she's played both an avocado and a jar of vegemite, and you'd think there'd be a decent hook in there someplace, I just can't seem to come up with one. Gatoclass (talk) 05:47, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fair. Could the hook just mention the contents of the videos themselves, e.g. ALT2: ... that Sarah McCreanor imitates objects under hydraulic presses through dance? ObserveOwl (chit-chatmy doings) 09:11, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Or even ALT3: ... that Sarah McCreanor is known online as the "Hydraulic Press Girl" for her dance videos? That would clarify she doesn't have that kind of job and make readers even more intrigued as to why. ObserveOwl (chit-chatmy doings) 09:01, 4 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Gatoclass: Any comments on the above? Z1720 (talk) 17:43, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
