Per the recently reverted Controversies section this page is likely to hit by many anon IP edits. This [1] also seems to be a clear case of canvassing by the author of the article in question. Web Warlock (talk) 20:15, 3 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Webwarlock: are you looking to have the page protected? If so, you need to make a request at WP:RFPP. NiciVampireHeart 20:27, 3 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Rereading the policy looks like I might need to wait a bit. Web Warlock (talk) 00:54, 4 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Unlikely to be canvassing. That post occurs nearly eight hours after the addition of that section. Seems unlikely that the author edited the article, then eight hours later needed someone who knew how to edit Wikipedia articles. LambdaKnight (talk) 21:19, 3 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. I'll wager my 10 years of experience here over your 10 or so hours. Web Warlock (talk) 00:54, 4 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The severe problem with this article is that none of the biographical content is refererenced or verifiable. Most of the references are links to various industry insider backscratching awards. In its current state, the article is unacceptable, and I am not convinced that this person is notable. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 01:00, 4 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Concur. Collect (talk) 21:42, 6 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Probably right on that one. LambdaKnight (talk) 04:16, 7 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I mean, if your 10 years of experience overcomes the arrow of time, I guess. LambdaKnight (talk) 04:16, 7 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Webwarlock: Regarding him not graduating West Point, how does one source logic? He attended for two years, but West Point is a four-year university. Hence he could not have graduated. Right now, a cursory reading of this article might lead one to believe he is a West Point graduate which is leading someone to a conclusion that I'm sure must be false. Of course, none of that information is sourced at all, which is part of the problem with this page. LambdaKnight (talk) 14:56, 27 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This falls under the Biographies of Living People. Read those rules before you add stuff. If you can't source it how does anyone know you are not just making up? These are the rules we have agreed to follow here. If you can't do that then leave. Web Warlock (talk) 16:01, 27 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
So why does that section even exist? It's completely unsourced. LambdaKnight (talk) 16:26, 27 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

FWIW http://www.e-yearbook.com/yearbooks/United_States_Military_Academy_West_Point_Howitzer_Yearbook/1986/Page_277.html shows a photo from the 1986 West Point yearbook, showing a "Sean Fannon". No other source that I can find, other than SPS, connects him with West Point. His own page says he studied Journalism at UGA and West Point - but West Point has no major in Journalism that I can find. Collect (talk) 23:38, 27 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

not sure that is good enough.Slatersteven (talk) 13:13, 28 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Also if he went to West Point would he have not had a commission?Slatersteven (talk) 13:18, 28 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It is not enough to say more than he was in the yearbook in 1986. Period. And certainly not "notable" for that, per WP standards. I still fear that there are no outside reliable sources to make him more any notable than thousands of people who have worked on games over the past decades. Certainly the listing of everything he says he wrote or worked on is extremely overdone in the current BLP, and using "interviews" in a bibliography when they are also used as references for claims is against policy. Collect (talk) 14:36, 28 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Well someone with that name (to illustrate, I have never worked as a airline attendant).Slatersteven (talk) 15:36, 28 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Article Work

[edit]

Following the AfD we should work towards improving the article. To aim here is to improve and include good 3rd party resources. I have a few more but now that there is time I want to carefully consider them, read them in depth. Web Warlock (talk) 00:57, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
