The Ranch (TV series)The Ranch (Netflix series) – There is another TV series actually broadcasting on a television called "The Ranch" as seen at http://www.tfo.org/en/universe/the-ranch it is 26 episodes long. The (TV series) location should be freed up for a redirect to a disambiguation for multiple TV series. I'm still debating on what to call this when I make an article about it. Possibly The Ranch (cartoon series) unless anyone has other suggestions. Ranze (talk) 16:55, 6 August 2016 (UTC) --Relisting. — Andy W. (talk ·ctb) 17:00, 13 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

That 70's Show

[edit]

Should it be mentioned somewhere that many actors in this series were previously in That 70s Show? It seems almost like a minnie-reunion. Emperor001 (talk) 19:08, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It seems unnecessary to put in a Wikipedia article. That's more like IMDb trivia Jawz101 (talk) 22:14, 22 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Episode Summaries?

[edit]

What happened to the episode summaries for the first 2 seasons? Were they removed entirely? Aidensdaddy2k9 (talk) 21:26, 21 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 17 August 2020

The result of the move request was: Moved. This one is close by the numbers (not that we’re counting) but not by strength of arguments. Support claims primary topic based on 98.3% of page views. Opposition doesn’t challenge this but argues recentism and popularity is dropping, but doesn’t address, much less refute, Support’s counter-point that unless and until the relative popularity drops substantially it will remain PT. One opposer claims that Ranch is “clearly” the PT for The Ranch, but with no basis whatsoever. It’s certainly not “clear” to this closer that anyone looking for the article on the generic ranch topic would search with “The Ranch”, much less that anyone searching with that term would be looking for Ranch. The Ranch (TV series)The Ranch – I just noticed someone pointed the existing The Ranch redirect at this page instead of its previous location, Ranch (disambiguation). I was about to undo it, but the show seems to have a decent case at WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, as it gets 98.3% of pageviews for all things The Ranch.[1] So, if it is indeed the primary topic, it should usurp the redirect which is currently malformed. • Maybe! But that seems really tough to assume. It's had the clear majority of page views for the entire length of time our page view stats tool can look back at. And it's definitely going down, but I don't think we can assume that just steadily happens forever. As it stands, the page can have more page views than all other topics combined even if it loses half of its page views... and then loses half again... and then loses half again... and then loses half again... and then loses half again. If it drops even more after that then we'd have a case, but even Netflix shows that ended half a decade ago haven't seen that sort of page view drop.--Yaksar (let's chat) 04:10, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Note the huge spikes that correspond only with the release of each new part of the series, followed by dramatic fall-back. With the show no longer in production, the direction is only down. Perhaps if this RM was opened 2 years ago, there'd be some value in doing the move... but at this point it seems moot. It doesn't benefit readers or editors at this point. -- Netoholic @ 04:53, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • You'd need a hell of a crystal ball to predict that it would fall to levels low enough to not be the primary by page views here. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a show where page views didn't decline after it ended, but I'd challenge you to find a single show where page views declined after it ended to levels lower than before it had initially aired.--Yaksar (let's chat) 05:40, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • No crystal ball needed. The spikes in views only correspond to periods when Netflix is promoting new releases (as potential viewers come here to find out what its about), but fails to sustain every time. The show got mediocre reviews and no accolades, it doesn't seem to have established itself in pop culture or have inspired a major following. Yes, it will always have a trickle of views as the show seems like it will remain on the platform, but overall there is only one direction those views can go. "The Ranch" is oft-used nickname for several topics which I don't think you've considering in your simple page views comparison. -- Netoholic @ 11:11, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • But (and maybe I'm just beating a dead horse at this point), you realize even if it drops to like, a quarter of the views it was getting at the lowest of the lowest of those points outside of the spikes, which would be pretty unlikely and out of line with other shows, it would still be getting above 90 percent of page views, right?--Yaksar (let's chat) 15:37, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • In what world do readers looking for that topic choose to search "The Ranch," in title case? It's certainly not the case for The Donkey or The Bacon or The Tulip or The Bottle or The Cushion or any other topic where there isn't an unclear primary among works by that name.--Yaksar (let's chat) 18:02, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Question -- which other topics do you think realistically could be an intended search target for "The Ranch." It seems the opposite of helpful to readers to bring them to a page almost entirely of subjects that someone could not expect to end up at among with a search that includes The, and in title case? Among those topics, given we have over a half decade where this topic seems to be getting close to 100 percent of page views, it seems hard to argue recentism is at play.--Yaksar (let's chat) 17:54, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The page is still at The Ranch (TV series). You have half-closed against @IJBall: @Netoholic: @Necrothesp: three very experienced editors on TV titles. Please undo yourself and instead vote instead of close just vote in favour of your own view. In ictu oculi (talk) 12:15, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The experience or lack thereof of participating editors is not considered in how much their !votes are weighted; only the strength of their arguments is, “giving due consideration to the relevant consensus of the Wikipedia community in general as reflected in applicable policy, guidelines and naming conventions.” If anything, experienced RM participants, including you, should know that, and I believe that’s exactly what I did here, fully in accordance with WP:RMCI and all other applicable policies. The article has now been moved. If you have a legitimate grievance I suggest you articulate it in terms of policy, which I will consider, and you can take to WP:MR if we don’t resolve it. Otherwise, please stop harassing me for no apparent reasons. Thank you. ==В²C 15:06, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • By the way, you did not move the technical move request which I had submitted after this close to “Contested technical requests” as you later claimed you had[2]. You had moved it to “Requests to revert undiscussed moves“[3], which made no sense. Anyway, even if you had put it under “Contested technical requests” that would have been inappropriate. Once an RM is closed by a non-admin who can’t actually perform the move the technical request is just that, a technicality. You don’t protest the close there by contesting the technical move request. You take it up with the closer directly, and, if that does not satisfy you, you go to WP:MR. Don’t shoot the messenger. Please. And thank you. —В²C 15:39, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
