  • אם אתם תמשיכו לשחק בדף הזה כאילו זה משחק סוליטר אני מוריד אותו לחלוטין. אני לא מוכן לסבול את זה יותר. Hapoelhaifa3 13:12, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yochanan VollachYochanan Wallach — During a search on the internet and through company websites, it is shown that the subject's official last name is Wallach NYC2TLV 17:36, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FIFA recors wrote Vollach and regardless to what is written in company's website it should stay like this. In Hebrew, you can write: ולך, וולך, ואלך, וולאך etc' but we decided on one. I am againts it. KremerG

Fluffing

[edit]

While I understand that Yochanan Vollach was a star player for Hapoel Haifa supporters, can we please keep the fluffing to a minimum? There are so many uncited statements in the article already that I would prefer that there be no obvious POV and many Hapoel Haifa supporters keep trying to edit the article and make it a Hall of Fame page. -NYC2TLV 19:26, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NYC2TLV, I see that you have never opened a real encyclopedia (what Wikipedia is supposed to be). See this image from Encyclopedia Aviv. They are an encyclopedia, they have a NPOV, but they are still saying "Eli Fuchs - the greatest of the Israeli football players", because that is exactly what NPOV it's about - saying the truth. Yellow up 19:32, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No need to insult first of all, secondly as I have said, this article has so many unsourced statements to begin with. The main writers of the article stated themselves that they got this information by calling Yochanan Vollach. -NYC2TLV 19:44, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the insult. "Over the years, Vollach managed to keep his position as one of the biggest sports stars in Israel" - is that not true? Yellow up 19:58, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • What about the fact that User:Ilyhg keeps trying to have it say that Vollach was the major reason for Maccabi Haifa's title in 1983/84? Shlomo Scharf and Avi Ran had nothing to do with that then? It is obvious fluffing. -NYC2TLV 07:17, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You can find a reference for that claim at Image:Maccabi Haifa without Vollach.jpg. He was considered to be the major reason. I personally don't mind changing it to "one of the major reasons" as you did but you should talk to Ilyhg about that since he's more knowledgeable than I am. References

[edit]

Is that normal to just uplad a bunch of op-ed articles and news clippings about a subject as references on Wikipedia? Isn't it best to cite the actual articles for the many controversial statements in this page? -SpeechFreedom 20:36, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No and yes, in that order. --Stemonitis 13:54, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The articals are vital. If you were to understand Hebrew you would have discover that all information is in the articles. There is also a "Citizen of honour" prize judge explanation which induct that (and I will translate only a part of it from Hebrew): “Vollach is the main reason of turning the club (Maccabi) to one of the best teams in Israel, while penetrating professional work style. He is considered to be the brains behind the building and success of the club, while remaining behind the seine, and so credit was granted to others.”
All the articles say the same things and even more. We call it in Hebrew: “Be otot o be moftom” meaning hard proof.

That really doesn't make a difference. They need to be organized and referenced properly. Use templates like Template:Cite news. In regards to the trivia section, it is unreferenced. -NYC2TLV 02:27, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
