Tara Newz (Bengali: তারা নিউজ; also known as Tara News) was a 24-hour Bengali language news channel, covering local news of West Bengal and Bangladesh as well as national and international news, operated by Broadcast Worldwide Limited, a public limited company, with other channels under its umbrella, viz. TARA Muzik, and TV Southasia. Tara Newz was formally launched on 21 February 2005, the International Mother Language Day.[2]

It was nationalized on 23 May 2013.[1] The channel was shut down on 15 April 2013.[3]
