Bug report 1
This template is broken; it does not display the importance ratings of articles. --EncycloPetey 20:51, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- Not so much broken, just primitive. :-)) I'm another one who's been nugged about that ever since my assessment marathon of September 2007. But I've now changed it to use Template:WPBannerMeta, which is a template for making templates. :-) Although it does constrain us a little bit, it does mean that you have half a chance of understanding what's going on, and adding new features should be much easier - full instructions are on the WPBannerMeta page. Leave a note on my Talk page if anything major has broken as a result. FlagSteward (talk) 14:24, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Bug report 2
The template is further broken in that it does not display the commentlink correctly: "(If you rated the article please give a short summary at comments to explain the ratings and/or to identify the strengths and weaknesses.)" - d'oh! — SMcCandlish [talk] [cont] ‹(-¿-)› 15:40, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- It seems to work for me, I tried from the Talk:Beef and it took me to a new sub page Talk:Beef/Comments which is what I would expect. Where did you try it? GameKeeper (talk) 17:44, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
I added Wikipedia:WikiProject Food and drink/Tasks to the collapsible section, and it worked fine until it was transcluded (which is all templates do, so it's kinda big). The template then wouldn't stop, and encompassed everything on the talk page. Here is the edit [1], if someone who knows a tad more than me about templates wants to do it properly, have at it. I'll leave it be. ~ JohnnyMrNinja 09:03, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- Fixed! It was a style error in the task list. JohnnyMrNinja 09:40, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Beer cat
This template places the talkpage of an article in the main beer cat when someone adds beer=yes to the template. I tried removing the main beer cat section from the template, but that doesn't seem to stop it. Only by removing the beer=yes from the template on the talkpage can it be stopped from adding the talkpage to the cat. Does someone know how to stop this template from placing talkpages in the main beer cat? SilkTork *YES! 19:36, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
- Fixed --Jeremy ( Blah blah...) 12:25, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
"=yes"
Why does the explanation not say to add "[child project]=yes"? I can't find the word "yes" here at all. This should be made as clear as possible to everyone. Badagnani (talk) 07:41, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
- You're right. --Jeremy ( Blah blah...) 07:56, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
Ah, continuous improvement--the key to the genius that is WP. Badagnani (talk) 07:58, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
Bug report 3
This template appears to leave whitespace above itself. 70.51.8.75 (talk) 10:11, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
- I agree. It has extra white space when 'nested=yes'. For example. Could an expert fix this? --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 19:43, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
I believe that was fixed. --Jeremy ( Blah blah...) 20:01, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
Bug report 4
This template is putting too much "tan-space" above and below. I saw it at Talk:Tim Horton, it looked fine here until I ?purged it, now it's broken everywhere :) Change in the meta-template? Franamax (talk) 19:29, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
- Well, to make it weirder, when I purge it, sometime it has the tan-space. When I just look at it WikiProject Food and drink, it looks fine. It's still broken at Talk:Tim Horton though. Franamax (talk) 19:35, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
- I am afraid it appears to be your computer and not the template. It looked fine in IE7, FF3, Opera 9.5, Chrome and Safari when I tried at it. --Jeremy ( Blah blah...) 20:00, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
- Well that's odd. I saw it at home XP2/IE7. Now I'm at a Vista/IE7/auto-updated PC and see the same problem, anon and logged-in. I'll wait a while to see if it goes away, then start looking at the HTML. Franamax (talk) 21:35, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
- I am afraid it appears to be your computer and not the template. It looked fine in IE7, FF3, Opera 9.5, Chrome and Safari when I tried at it. --Jeremy ( Blah blah...) 20:00, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
- That is still the same browser, have you looked at it with a non-MS browser? --Jeremy ( Blah blah...) 02:00, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
needs-photo
The documentation page for the template says that it supports a "needs-photo" parameter, but that parameter isn't implemented -- it doesn't add the article to any categories for articles needing images. Should it be removed from the documentation, or did someone mean to implement this and never get around to it? Tim Pierce (talk) 11:28, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
- Done Yeah, I meant to get to it and hadn't. I just took care of it on 6 April 2009, so it is all set to go. --Jeremy (blah blah) 19:11, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
need-photo 2
Any objections to changing the destination to Category:Wikipedia requested photographs of food so that it matches existing requests and naming conventions of reqphoto? Traveler100 (talk) 18:59, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- I have no problem with it as I have been overseeing the categorization of this stuff. There is category:Food and drink articles needing photo also that is part of the project tag ({tl|wpfood}} that appears to be overlapping this one. --Jeremy (blah blah) 19:06, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- Just a note, since the category for photos has been changed on the template, the "needing photo cat" needs to be changed to a cat redirect to the "requested photographs" cat. I'm going to change that now, just wanted to let you guys know the reason why. --Funandtrvl (talk) 20:53, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
- I would have preferred him to go through and change them when he changed the category. --Jeremy (blah blah) 21:20, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry, go through and change which? If there's some other bookkeeping that needs to be done around this change, I'll be happy to take care of it. Tim Pierce (talk) 21:27, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
- If Jeremy is referring to the fact that the person who changed the template should have also realized that the deprecated category needed to be redirected, of course, this would have been preferable. However, it didn't happen that way. There are many "orphaned" categories out there, just take a look Category:Underpopulated categories (3100+ at last count). Hopefully, Jeremy is not implying that the task should have been left undone until the original person took care of it (or not). --Funandtrvl (talk) 06:10, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
- No, I am just saying Traveler should have taken the time to change categories on the articles that were still under the old cat after he made the change to the template. Leaving it to others is kinda inconsiderate. I would never say he must do it, and until then no one else should - I wouldn't do that even if I had the power as High Lord Wikia... 8-) --Jeremy (blah blah) 07:56, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
- FWIW, I am the one who changed the template, not Traveler100, so please don't blame him. :-) I don't understand what you think should have been done. The change to the template means that the category changes happen implicitly -- it's not necessary to update each article individually. There was a period of time where the articles continued to show up under the old category because Wikipedia had not exhausted its cache, but that doesn't require additional changes from editors (and, AFAIK, it can't be hurried either).
- If there is something else you think needs to be done, please let me know and I will take responsibility for cleaning it up, but I think that with the category redirect (thanks Funandtrvl!) this should be all set. Tim Pierce (talk) 15:06, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, thanks Twp. Wouldn't it be advisable to tag the deprecated category for deletion, now that the articles have migrated over to the current category? BTW, "High Lord Wikia"?? That's pretty funny, must add it to a sub-category of Internet addiction disorder. (just kidding) --Funandtrvl (talk) 15:55, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
- Yup, thanks for the reminder, I'll do that. Tim Pierce (talk) 16:03, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
Order of parameters
The order in which the parameters are input in this template make a difference to the categories which talk page is place in. It appears to only work as intended if the sub-project tag is first in the list. As example see last two test edits of Aladdin's Eatery --Traveler100 (talk) 12:18, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
bug 2
If two sub-projects are added only one request photograph category is created. See for example Talk:Bristol Cream --Traveler100 (talk) 08:42, 12 September 2009 (UTC)\
- that is not a bug, it is deliberate.--Jeremy (blah blah • I did it!) 08:34, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
Bug 3
It also appears to be case sensitive. See example Talk:Hünkar (restaurant)
Size
Please reduce the size of this banner. It is taking up far too much space on talk pages. Thanks — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 06:56, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- What do you mean? I just undid all of the changes I have done in the past week and is still the same size. --Jeremy (blah blah • I did it!) 07:22, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- Here are the changes I have made in the past week:
|MAIN_TEXT = <div style="text-align:center;">:SUBJECTPAGENAME is within the scope of WikiProject Food and Drink{{#ifeq:{}|yes|.|, an open collaborative effort to coordinate work for and sustain comprehensive coverage of articles pertaining to the subjects of food, beverages and related subjects. Additionally, WikiProject Food and Drink seeks to coordinate interaction between the related food and beverage WikiProjects</div> <div style="text-align:center; font-variant:small-caps; font-size: small; border: 2px solid silver; padding: 4px; -webkit-border-radius: 10px; -moz-border-radius: 10px; width: 75%; margin-left: auto; margin-right:auto;">Template Usage Requested Articles Assessment Taskforce Become a Member Project Talk</div>}}
- and
|B_CHECKLIST = yes |b1={{{B-Class-1|{}}}} |b2={{{B-Class-2|{}}}} |b3={{{B-Class-3|{}}}} |b4={{{B-Class-4|{}}}} |b5={{{B-Class-5|{}}}}
- I have removed them from the template and the size has not changed. I have also looked at several other templates and they are all the same width. Are you sure this is the fault of this template? --Jeremy (blah blah • I did it!) 07:30, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- The linkbox you added was stretching the banner vertically. At a glance, I'd say the oversized task force icons are part of the problem too. PC78 (talk) 11:25, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- When I looked at other unrelated boxes on unrelated pages, they were all the same width on multiple computers and browsers. This link box was copied from another template and it doesn't have behave as you say it does. --Jeremy (blah blah • I did it!) 01:37, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- Actually it does -- look again. All project banner are the same width; we're talking about height here. PC78 (talk) 02:04, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- Ach, now I zee... (said in a bad German accent), that would be no big deal to fix. Why didn't you say that in the beginning! 8-)--Jeremy (blah blah • I did it!) 08:54, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
Yes, the issue is with the height of the banner, mainly caused by the huge taskforce icons. When there is more than one taskforce, the size is ridiculous. If you want to keep those, perhaps we can put the taskforces in a collapsed box? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 13:41, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
- Go for it... You can also rest the size on the images if it is proper. I want to put back the stuff I removed, though. --Jeremy (blah blah • I did it!) 06:14, 30 November 2009 (UTC)
Task force parameters
Judging by the various task force parameters in this banner, can I assume that the following banners are now deprecated and replaceable with this one: WikiProject Spirits, WikiProject Beer, WikiProject Wine, WikiProject Mixed Drinks, WikiProject Soft Drinks, WikiProject Ice Cream? PC78 (talk) 11:28, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- Don't assume anything. The reason this supports those other tags is in cases where there is significant overlap and we can avoid using several templates.
--Jeremy (blah blah • I did it!) 01:34, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
Why use seven banners when one will do? PC78 (talk) 02:05, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- Territorialism. Though Ice Cream, Soft Drinks (with the Coffee and Tea TF) and Mixed Drinks (with the Bartending TF) should be demoted to task force status as they are pretty much inactive. --Jeremy (blah blah • I did it!) 08:51, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
If they're inactive, that seems like all the more reason to consolidate banners. PC78 (talk) 12:10, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
Taskforce portals
We are discussing adding support for separate portals for taskforces. As this banner customises the portals display quite extensively, perhaps someone would like to comment at Template talk:WPBannerMeta#Portals? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 07:24, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
just got accused of vandalism...
Please help. Maybe I did something wrong in the coding, I want to change the image to one that is less-creepy-staring-at-you, and I just got accused of vandalism... If I am doing something wrong, please help me fix it. --Chris (クリス • フィッチュ) (talk) 05:09, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
- Please read the history again, there
iswas a follow up null-edit that explainsed what happened, and it has disappeared. I have left a message on your talk page about this. --Jeremy (blah blah • I did it!) 06:56, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
Pages where expansion depth is exceeded
The template is giving the error: "Pages where expansion depth is exceeded", (see hidden categories at bottom). I've pared down the /doc page, but apparently that wasn't enough. I'll try to get some help at the meta talk page. --Funandtrvl (talk) 22:40, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
- In the sandbox, I noticed the same error; so I hid the doc page, the error went away; I unhid it and the error came back. The doc page in isolation does not show the error, so it's the template and doc in combination. Is it necessary to have all those demonstrations on the doc page? Most doc pages for WikiProject banners don't bother, even though many include some copy-and-paste examples of correct syntax. See, for example, Template:WikiProject Beer/doc. --Redrose64 (talk) 12:54, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
- Idea: don't use
WikiProjectBannerShell
in the demos. I realise that they are there to make the banners themselves collapsible and collapsed: so why not simulate that with some equivalent HTML which uses no templates? For example, where the following code is used:
- use the following instead:
<table><tr><td></td><td class="mbox-text"></td></tr><tr><td colspan="2" class="wpbs-inner outercollapse">

</td></tr></table>
- Of the three lines, the first and third would be the same for each demonstration, and would replace the
WikiProjectBannerShell
, simulating part of its action. The middle one would naturally vary between demos, but its syntax is the same whether enclosed by theWikiProjectBannerShell
or by my stripped-down HTML. This yields:
- Idea: don't use

- Thanks, I think it was the shell, I left it out for now and cleared up a few other things too. Best to keep it simple, I guess!! --Funandtrvl (talk) 16:57, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

Change photo requests to image requests
This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= or |ans= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
As part of a nearly-completed shift to distinguish requests for photos from requests for images in general, it is requested that this template be modified to place talk pages in "Wikipedia requested images of..." categories, rather than the old "Wikipedia requested photographs of..." categories. As such, please supplement all references to "photo(s) of..." and "photograph(s) of..." with "image(s) of..." in both the template and its documentation, while maintaining backwards compatibility for the old "photo" parameters. In particular, change "photograph or picture" to simply "image". Note that the "Wikipedia requested images of..." categories have already been created. Thank you! — s w p b T 15:30, 7 December 2015 (UTC)

Atletic Greens green drink
Hello I’m new here. I'm not certain if "/wiki/Template_talk:WikiProject_Food_and_drink" is the right place to post this, but I'm wondering if anyone has sampled Athletic Greens for their green drink? I'm finding most either taste disgusting or cause my stomach to revolt. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.71.109.38 (talk) 02:39, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
