Thamarai Nenjam (தமிழ்: தாமரை நெஞ்சம், English: Lotus Heart) is a 1968 Indian Tamil romantic drama film directed by K. Balachandar. The film was produced by Annamalai—Arunachalam under the production company Bama films. The film Script written by K. Balachandar .The film stars Gemini Ganesan, B. Saroja Devi and Vanisri in lead roles with Major Sundararajan and Nagesh playing supporting roles.[2] The soundtrack was composed by M. S. Viswanathan while the lyrics for the songs were written by Kannadasan. K.Balachander remade the film in Kannada as Mugila Mallige (1985).

Remakes
The film was remade in Telugu as Mooga Prema (1969) and in Kannada as Mugila Mallige (1985).[5][6] The former was directed by Gutha Ramineedu while the latter was directed by Balachander himself.
