There are 38 members of the 18th Knesset who are foreign born. Because Israel has a high ratio of immigrants (olim), a significant number of the members of Knesset were not born in Israel. Eighteen were born in the Soviet Union, eight were born in Morocco, two each were born in Germany and Iraq, and one each were born in Algeria, Belgium, Ethiopia, Iran, Romania, Syria, Tunisia, and United Kingdom.
