December 2012[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. ElKevbo (talk) 19:11, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dead links[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not remove citations or information sourced through citations simply because a link to a source is not working, as you did to University of Southern California. Dead links should not be deleted. Instead, please repair or replace the link, if possible, and ensure properly sourced information is retained. Often, a live substitute link can be found. Links not used as references, notes or citations are not as important, such as those listed in the "External links" or "Further reading" sections, but bad links in those sections should also be fixed if possible. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. --Arxiloxos (talk) 06:38, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sacramento montage[edit]

I don't believe there is a way to include that template into the infobox as you desire. Where similar pages have a montage it is because someone created a montage image and uploaded it to Commons. You will likely have to do the same.--The Devil's Advocate tlk. cntrb. 01:08, 28 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I updated Sacramento, California to fix the placement of {{Photomontage}} template so that it displays in the same position inside the infobox, but without the extraneous "[[File:" text. -- Zyxw (talk) 02:58, 29 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

March 2013[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:California Polytechnic State University, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Absolutely do not remove talk page comments because you disagree with them. This is poor form, especially when you are in the midst of edit warring. tedder (talk) 19:12, 21 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at Talk:California State University, Long Beach, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Information icon Hello, I'm Gtwfan52. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Oxnard, California, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Please see WP:RS. Also, adjectives ending in "EST" already are defined as most, so the use of most before them is not proper English grammar. Gtwfan52 (talk) 22:27, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did to Oxnard, California, without verifying it by citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. the source you provided is not the FBI crime stats it is a commercial website without fact checking purporting to be giving the FBI crime stats. See WP:RS. also the syntax sucks. if you want that in, cite a decent source and write it in better English. Gtwfan52 (talk) 23:56, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You may find this link illuminating as to the reliability of the source you are citing: http://www.businessinsider.com/disclaimer. Self-admittedly, they are not a reliable source. Gtwfan52 (talk) 00:07, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Oxnard, California. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Gtwfan52 (talk) 07:01, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Uwatch310. It has now been over six months since you last edited your article submission, entitled Admissions to California State University, Sacramento.

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note, however, that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Admissions to California State University, Sacramento}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing.

Editorializing[edit]

I've noticed you like to use the term "notably," most recently in your Sept. 3rd contribution to Todd Gloria. Please note this is considered editorializing by Wikipedia (WP:EDITORIALIZING): "The use of adverbs such as notably and interestingly, and phrases such as it should be noted, to highlight something as particularly significant or certain without attributing that opinion should usually be avoided to maintain an impartial tone." Please refrain in the future. Thanks. 50.143.150.226 (talk) 02:22, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Linda Katehi: Reorganization and 2011 Occupy protest[edit]

Hello, Uwatch310. I noticed that you made a very helpful edit to the Linda Katehi page yesterday. I recently left two new messages on the discussion page for other editors to review and I thought you might be interested in looking over one or both, if you have time. The first note is about restructuring the entire article in order to organize the information more logically, and the second message is about condensing the information about the protest in 2011 so that the section just focuses on Katehi's actions. Here is the new message about reorganizing the page and you'll find my other message directly below that one. If you're able to help out, will you let me know what you think?

I should also mention that I am an employee of UC Davis in the communications department and I know I shouldn't make edits to the page myself.

Thank you for looking at this. LindaF UC Davis (talk) 23:52, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

SDSU is not the flagship. Citing internal documents naming itself as such is not a valid citation. Nor is a news story. I am aware of an email from the CSU system telling SDSU to not identify itself as the flagship. Prehaps you should do some history of the CSU system. in 2007 The U.S. H.O.R. recognized SJSU as the flagship, and founding campus of the CSU system. See proper link https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/110/hres365/text. There are also several other citations naming SJSU as the flagship campus. Please stop posting false info.SCraigA (talk) 05:14, 12 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion on this topic needs to be moved to the public talk page of SDSU, not personal pages. An "email" is not a form of valid verification - unless the CSU sends out publications stating otherwise, calling SDSU (and Cal Poly at this point) Flagship still stands - based on the qualifications of what a flagship is. There are nearly 5 sources that check this.--Uwatch310 (talk) 05:20, 12 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings Uwatch310: I am sorry you felt the need to revert my edit to the images on the Humboldt State University page. You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
