Nintendo UK listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Nintendo UK. Since you had some involvement with the Nintendo UK redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Steel1943 (talk) 23:01, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

  • I don't remember creating it (although apparently I did, back in 2011), and don't have any strong feelings on it one way or another. I guess it has some use in that if you want to mention Nintendo UK in an article you can do so without writing [[Nintendo|Nintendo UK]], but that's about it.--IDVtalk 23:15, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

Mob Psycho 100: Second Season

Hello IDV! I see that you've added details about Bones (studio) planing on making a new series. But they haven't anounced it officially. Alex Osborn from IGN wrote that it was anounced on Twitter by film screening attendees that a new Mob project is moving forward but it can also be an anime film.(http://in.ign.com/m/mob-psycho-100/111297/news/mob-psycho-100-anime-to-continue-at-studio-bones) So can you explain me why you edit that studio Bones announced a second season. -- Phoenix God (talk) 09:27, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

My latest version does not say that a second season has been announced, only that attendees of the screening said a new project is planned. If you want to tweak the wording further, that's fine by me.--IDVtalk 09:33, 4 August 2017 (UTC)
@Phoenix God: (forgot to ping you)--IDVtalk 09:39, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

Hello @IDV:! Can you please tell me that (Easternkicks.com) is a reliable source for films reviews or not. -- Phoenix God (talk) 12:22, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

@Phoenix God: I have never heard of it before, but I don't write about films very often. You should probably ask WikiProject Film.--IDVtalk 12:31, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

@IDV: Okay, I will ask there. Thank you. Happy editing. -- Phoenix God (talk) 12:37, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

Hello @IDV: I was reading manga related articles that are not adapted into anime yet, and noticed that this article named Until Death Do Us Part (manga) contains almost every character that appear in manga. So can you take a look at that. Because i think there are a lot of minor one also. Phoenix God (talk) 17:28, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

@Phoenix God: Hi! I haven't read that manga, but oh boy, that character section is in bad shape. I'll try to trim it down a bit, but since I don't know the characters and story I might have a hard time telling who's a minor character and who's not... We'll see how it goes. Also, you don't need to "ping" me when you're posting messages on my own talk page - Wikipedia will automatically send notifications when you post on users' talk pages for you. No harm done, just a tip.--IDVtalk 19:24, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
Update: I trimmed down the "protagonists" section quite a bit, cutting out things that belong in a story summary and not in a character's entry, and removed characters that are only mentioned as a name with no information on their role in the story. I don't have any idea who's truly important and who's not, so yeah, I have a hard time working with this... I don't think I'll do the antagonist section.--IDVtalk 19:55, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

Okay! Thanks for the help. But Can you ask someone who have read the manga to delete the minor characters. Phoenix God (talk) 08:49, 19 August 2017 (UTC)

Well, I can start a thread over at WikiProject Anime and manga and see if anyone wants to help out.--IDVtalk 11:23, 19 August 2017 (UTC)
@Phoenix God: Done.--IDVtalk 11:35, 19 August 2017 (UTC)

Fair use image quality

I know we discussed this a while ago, but I just wanted to ask you this: why do fair use images on Wikipedia have to be low resolution? That policy makes no sense to me because decreasing the resolution of an image doesn't do anything except it makes the quality worse and hard to look at when you zoom into it. DBZFan30 (talk) 19:33, 14 August 2017 (UTC)

@DBZFan30: I'm not a copyright expert, so you're probably better off asking someone who is more knowledgable, or reading WP:NFC. My understanding is that because those images are non-free, we can only use them minimally - this includes image resolution and audio bit rate, and also means that a portion of a work is preferred over a complete work when the portion already fulfills the purpose (for instance, in Persona Q#Character design, I cropped an image of the character redesigns since we only needed one comparison).--IDVtalk 19:58, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
@IDV: I'm sorry if I asked the wrong person, but thanks anyway. DBZFan30 (talk) 20:07, 14 August 2017 (UTC)

DYK for Phantom Blood

On 17 November 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Phantom Blood, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the character posings in the manga Phantom Blood were influenced by the sculpture Apollo and Daphne (pictured)? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Phantom Blood. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Phantom Blood), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

PR

Hi, would you be able to take a look at the peer review for Monaco: What's Yours Is Mine if you've got some time? I specifically need help with the plot section as it's a bit too long IMO. I can take a look at an article you're working on in return, if you'd like. Cheers, Anarchyte (work | talk) 11:58, 8 January 2018 (UTC)

@Anarchyte: Sure, I'll take a look at it. If you want to look through an article of a similar length, there's Kotaro Uchikoshi - it's my first biography on WP, so it'd be nice to get some tips before I take it to GAN. I don't have a PR open for it, so I guess you can just start a thread on its talk page instead.--Alexandra IDVtalk 12:31, 8 January 2018 (UTC)
I don't have too much experience with biographies, but I'll take a look nonetheless . Anarchyte (work | talk) 12:39, 8 January 2018 (UTC)
All right, thanks!--Alexandra IDVtalk 12:40, 8 January 2018 (UTC)

Possible GA review?

Hi. A fellow user nominated the movie article Boruto: Naruto the Movie but it has been over 30 days and it hasn't been nominated. If you have free time, I would appreciate if you could review it considering your experience with Wikipedia articles. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 20:42, 14 January 2018 (UTC)

@Tintor2: Hi! I'm currently working on a PR, but I'll be happy to review that Boruto article once I'm done, if no one else has started already by then.--Alexandra IDVtalk 20:48, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for editing the new SNK game article. By the way, one of these days could you review this FAC? It passed its image and source review, but I feel it lacks more support feedback before making a consensus. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 16:02, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
All right, I'll take a look.--Alexandra IDVtalk 12:49, 11 February 2018 (UTC)

Shin Megami Tensei: Brand New Title listed at Redirects for discussion

Golden Wind

To finally put closure on this topic, I'd like you to participate in the talk page for the name of the part. Try and produce evidence in three days or I will change the article's contents. By the way, the Shueisha listing you linked in your edit summary has zero mention of Vento Aureo. I'll let you know now that is used in virtually no Japanese media whatsoever because the name of the part has always been Ōgon no Kaze in Japan with "Le Bizzarre Avventure di GioGio" used in some WSJ issues and tankobon releases as a stand-in for the series' name, """NOT""" Vento Aureo. In most promotional Japanese material they have chosen to localize it officially as Golden Wind for good reason, being that it is the accurate English translation of Ōgon no Kaze. --あんっど (talk) 01:31, 23 January 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for the comments in the FAC. With Flowerpiep's help I managed to add another figure that attracted an experienced writer. Are there any other comments? I mean the FAC has been going around for a month. Regards.Tintor2 (talk) 03:11, 24 February 2018 (UTC)

Minor update

Hi there. Hope you get back to health soon, and a small update on Code_18. I've done some extra work on it, and I think it's as complete as it's possible to get the article for this extremely niche title. I think it's worth taking it to GAN now when you've got the energy and time. If you'd prefer, I can handle that last step for you. It's still your project, so I leave you to decide. You don't need to reply if you're not able. Hope I've helped. --ProtoDrake (talk) 21:36, 17 March 2018 (UTC)

@ProtoDrake: Hi! I don't want to discuss it in public channels too much, so hit me up on WP:Discord if you want to talk, but it's likely to take quite some time before I'm okay. Regarding the C18 expansion: thank you so much, I have been looking for Japanese reception for C18 for ages! I could not find it scanned anywhere and not a single place seemed willing to ship it outside Japan, so if I may ask, how were you able to get hold of the Famitsu 360 issue? I can handle a GA review, so I'll nominate myself, but thanks for asking~!--Alexandra IDVtalk 22:06, 17 March 2018 (UTC)
Well... It wasn't easy, and I'm afraid I can't be sure enough of the translation to keep the info in. I think it may have let my enthusiasm get the best of me. Going through Japanese without Google Translate isn't my strongest point by a large margin. Sorry if this scuppers things. I have confirmed that that's the issue the review's in. But don't despair. I've managed to pass an article through GA with this problem before (Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner). --ProtoDrake (talk) 22:26, 17 March 2018 (UTC)
@ProtoDrake: No worries, it's good that you stepped back if you're unsure. It really is hard to write about these Japanese-only games...--Alexandra IDVtalk 22:31, 17 March 2018 (UTC)

Mages table

What have you done to it? you've incorrectly formatted the systems (they should not be abbreviated), and you don't place repeated links for game systems either. Iftekharahmed96 (talk) 22:45, 16 April 2018 (UTC)

@Iftekharahmed96: The reason for repeated links within the table is that a table is typically not read the same way one reads prose - you don't necessarily go from top to bottom, particularly since you can sort the table by release, title and platform. I abbreviated the platforms for the same reason they are abbreviated in places like 2018 in video gaming - this is allowed according to the MoS, because they take up a lot of space in cases where a game is available on many platforms. I don't see a problem.--Alexandra IDVtalk 23:00, 16 April 2018 (UTC)

why did you revert my edits in his user page? i'd appreciate if he worked on Undertale & Earthbound to be WP:FAs. Also, I wanted if he could work on Fornite too.

Just saying :)

Kirbyaddict99 (talk) 00:48, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

@Kirbyaddict99: ProtoDrake is a volunteer investing his free time in writing and editing articles he is interested in, and is not paid to work on Wikipedia. Don't add items to other people's personal to-do lists, because they are not under the obligation to do it, and GAs/FAs involve a lot of work - if you want something done on WP, do it yourself or collaborate with someone. Additionally, people are mostly free to design their own userpage as they wish.--Alexandra IDVtalk 08:00, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

Organizing reception

I noticed on your user page that you have a guide regarding reception sections. I am trying to do something similar to the article of Kazuya Mishima with plans of taking to GA after its copyedit and divided each paragraph based on different aspects of the character (popularity, characterization, alterego, gameplay and other media). Could you give me your opinion regarding it? Of course I also requested to the guild of copyeditors to give it a clean up. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 02:03, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
