Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, André N. Dannevig. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
- instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. @André N. Dannevig: Can you please ensure that you read WP:COI and follow the procedures that it outlines? Exemplo347 (talk) 19:25, 12 April 2017 (UTC)
The article Unn Røyneland has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. - I see that since you received the message above under the heading "Managing a conflict of interest" you have made 25 edits, but you have not responded to the statement in that message indicating a need to disclose related employment. Where it says "you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation ... " the message is referring to the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use. Anyone who edits as part of paid work and does not disclose the nature of that paid work is in breach of those terms of use, and is liable to be blocked from editing if he or she continues to do so after being informed of the fact. I also see that you have continued to edit on topics to which you appear to have a direct personal connection after receiving that message, including creating an article. Please carefully re-read the message about conflict of interest, especially the bit that says "avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization". Copyright problem
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the page Elizabeth Lanza, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition was deleted under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text—which means allowing other people to modify it—then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later, and the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License." You may also e-mail or mail the Foundation to release the content. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more.
While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 14:24, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
- I see that you disclosed your paid editing immediately before I blocked your account. I shall unblock it. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 14:39, 2 May 2017 (UTC)

Advice
[edit]The way we demonstrate notability here for academics is according to the criterion at WP:PROF. The most important factor is their publication. Please list all books , and the most cited or otherwise important articles, so we can judge. Otherwise they will likely be deleted. DGG ( talk ) 18:32, 6 May 2017 (UTC)

Need for independent sources
[edit]I have just looked at two drafts for articles that you have created. In both cases, the only reference you have given is the profile page about the person in question on the web site of an institution they work for. That, I'm afraid, is not enough to establish notability in the terms of Wikipedia's notability guidelines. Any academic is likely to be the subject of a page on the web site of their institution at which they work, no matter how significant or insignificant they may be, and so the existence of such a page is no evidence of notability. What is needed is substantial coverage in a source which is independent of the subject of the article, which excludes any source associated with tat subject, such as an organisation they are connected to.
