Editing Wikipedia[edit]
Hello, thanks for your post on administrator Ferret's talk page. If what you say is correct, I think your teacher has very much the wrong idea about Wikipedia. It's one of Wikipedia's principles that edits should be relevant and of good quality - for example, adding new information and citing reliable sources like books written by experts on a topic. Experienced contributors to Wikipedia judge contributions by quality over quantity, so it's unlikely that copying large swathes of text from books or other Wikipedia articles is ever going to be allowed and not reverted. Ask your teacher if he or she respects books by which ones are the longest, and tell them it's not fair to grade you on that principle.
If you could ask your teacher to take a look at this guide to how to do school projects connected to Wikipedia, that would prevent them making mistakes like this in future. Or they are welcome to ask questions on the education noticeboard. Blythwood (talk) 01:53, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
