As per WP:LEAD, the lead section does not contain anything new but only summarizes the article. Think of Kanchipuram and the first things that would come to your mind are those of Hindu temples, the Kanchi matha and silk sarees. Hence, I feel it is important enough to be mentioned in the first paragraph of the lead.-RaviMy Tea Kadai 05:51, 20 October 2012 (UTC)

Chennai Stationboards

The images of the stationboards of Chennai central & Egmore were placed in the transport column of the article. why were they removed? Superfast1111 (talk) 11:44, 30 October 2012 (UTC)

Seems due a computer error, i have undone your edits. Sorry about that but would still like an answer to the above question. Superfast1111 (talk) 11:54, 30 October 2012 (UTC)

Hi Superfast1111, Thanks for showing interest in Chennai article. However, as I see it, the article title reads "Chennai" and not "Railway Stations in Chennai." There is already a picture in the transport section to represent railways. The signboards does not seem, in anyway, to represent the face of Chennai. Please revoke your edits if my reason is convincing.Challengethelimits (talk) 13:33, 30 October 2012 (UTC)

The section was transport in Chennai. I am not sure about undoing the edit. I am assuming that you are a resident of Chennai, a city i visited several times during the late eighties & early nineties hence would like to leave it to your judgement. If possible,do not remove the main entrance image. I visited Chennai last year & spent close to 2 hrs at both the stations. To me the stationboards written in 3 languages represent respect & willingness of people who speak different languages to be able to come & work together. Once again, your call in light of my request. Superfast1111 (talk) 06:26, 31 October 2012 (UTC)

Vandalur Zoo Map

Hi Challengethelimits, sorry, I've had my exams going on [plus the turbulent weather] so I've been unable to do much. For the map, I suggest you ask User:Planemad for his inputs. He's an expert on maps and knows Chennai quite well. He could probably know a lot about the Zoo. Also you had requested me to check for something via Highbeam. I promise I'll check it next week when my exams get over. Editing Wikipedia itself seems to be a privilege with the kind of systems that we have out here. :). Cheers, Happy Editing mate! --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 06:33, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi Srikanth, I am expecting the map to be completed by today. I will get User:Planemad’s opinion on that. Regarding the “highbeam” source, Rasnaboy has tweaked the sentence, which now looks good even without source (however, the source will add value). The article is good for GAN. Thanks a ton dude! And all the best for your exams… Hope you don’t use “== XXXX ==” style for heading in your exams :)--Challengethelimits (talk) 08:43, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
I will definitely keep that in mind. I'll add a source, from someplace or the other. I added it as pending on my phone's memo list. :). As for the == headings ==, I've actually been doing that for close to three years now. :). -_Rsrikanth05 (talk) 12:27, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
I've been unable to find a source in Highbeam and Credo. I'm a little stumped. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 09:57, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
Hey Srikanth... Sorry for not informing... I found source for that, and more, in Tamil newspapers :) See the article now...:)--Challengethelimits (talk) 11:05, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
Aaah, brilliant. Sounds good. I guess I should start reading other languages newspapers now. :) --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 09:41, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

Change of page name

Hi Challengethelimits, Thank you for changing the name of the page on the Food Enthusiasts of Delhi. Rohini (talk) 18:35, 7 November 2012 (UTC)

Welcome Rohini. I tried to add info box to the article. But I wasn't sure if it is NGO? Is it? Could not get a clue by reading the article. Will be nice if you clarify for the readers. Happy editing :)--Challengethelimits (talk) 18:40, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
It ain't a registered organisation. It started off as an informal group of foodies and grew into a mammoth group known for its escapades in Delhi and elsewhere. Not sure if an infobox applies to such a group. -Rohini (talk) 08:15, 14 November 2012 (UTC)

Duronto Edits

Why is that you find ONLY my images as excess or irrelevant not any of the other images that exist? Superfast1111 (talk) 06:39, 1 December 2012 (UTC)

Because there were already similar images in the article. Correct me if I am wrong.--Challengethelimits (talk) 11:01, 1 December 2012 (UTC)

Or because you were the only one pushing your images and saying relevant. I don't really know. And CTL, no need for correction. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 11:27, 1 December 2012 (UTC)

Srikanth, i disagree. But perhaps you can clarify what constitutes pushing. You make editions & they qualify as improvement,i do the same but it is pushing or perhaps is there something else??? CTL, there are other pages with lots of images but there seems to be no problem there. Request is simple, let the images be there for sometime (Duronto & Shatabdi)& let others have a chance to comment on them.If the overwhelming view is negative, then i will myself remove them but it is hard for others to judge something you cannot see. Pls try to do this favour for me so that i dont get a negative feeling of being targeted. I am sure we can like Indian Railways work together on a common platform by working around our differences.

By the way just to let you know, the old rake of the Mysore Shatabdi is being used for the 12025/26 Pune Shatabdi. 12261/62 Howrah Duronto,12293/94 Allahabad Duronto are using old refurbhised Rajdhani rakes. 12267/68 & 12227/28 Ahmedabad & Indore Duronto's are still using the newer LHB rakes. Here's to people who are proud of Indian Railways. Superfast1111 (talk) 05:31, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

Repeatedly adding images you clicked, where they are NOT relevant, and using unwarranted edit summaries, is something that not just me, b ut others would call as pushing. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 15:30, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
Yes Superfast. While there is no doubt that your efforts should be appreciated, it should be noted that not many would like to see station boards and train boards in an article. If I were a layman and would like to know about, say, Duronto express, I would like to see a panorama, its seating facilities, and maybe a neat pantry, all clean pics taken from proper angle. And yes, your pics, though not bad, is not encyclopedic (or so many of the editors feel). If the editors remove your pics, and you feel targeted, you can ask opinions about your pics to experts in this area (there are plenty of them here in wiki and you can get unbiased opinion). any of us would help you find those experts for you. Instead, if you keep on re-adding the pics, like many, I would be forced to call this pushing. Please remember, Abishek, Rsrikanth, me, or anybody in Wiki has no personal conflict with you. In fact, we will be happy to have another editor beside our shoulders to keep watch on the articles. Reverting is very common in Wiki, and I have done that to many senior editors. Its time for us to realise this and take a step forward. and about the rakes, it's a nice info man. if you get the source, add that to the article. --Challengethelimits (talk) 01:45, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

CTL, I am beginning to see your point of view. We can do that (ask experts) or better yet since most of the disagreements are between the 4 of us. I have a proposal. Let the images i have uploaded stay for say a week. None of us will remove them & let us monitor the talk page & put our opinions there. Let us see what happens. If the reviews or comments are negative, then i will remove them myself or decide on further action. However i must point out that on some of the pages, similar images are doing fine. One of my recent disagreements with Abhishek has been over an article where he has removed all images uploaded. I just cant understand why he would do that & have a article with no images. Would that be targeting? As far as the images of Chennai Central & Egmore are concerned,i am just a visitor who spent nearly 4 hours at both places although i liked Central more. I have left it to you & Srikanth to decide.

As to the source of the information on the rakes, it is myself. I have travelled by the 12219/20, 12227/28, 12267/68, 12293/94 Durontos & ofcourse the 12025/26 Shatabdi. 12261/62 Duronto was observed by me when it passed Kanjurmarg station in Mumbai. I guess i could create an article on Shatabdi or maybe send you the information & you take over. One help i needed. Whenever i head to the 12925/26 Paschim express pages, it redirects to some love express page. Do you think we can do something about it & create an article on the actual train?

Superfast1111 (talk) 03:53, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Your images were removed because:
  • You didn't discuss with others
  • You kept bringing them back
  • You accused others of vandalism and attacked them in edit summaries
  • They were irrelevant in many cases
  • They were cluttering the page otherwise. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 16:29, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Srikanth, so nice of you to have a point by point discussion. Here are my points in reply to yours:

  • You didn't discuss with others - How can any person be expected to comment on the quality of an image unless they see the image. If there is a way, we can talk about it at a later time. Would surely like to know about it.
  • You kept bringing them back - If images that i uploaded are removed without reason, i have a right to do so.
  • You accused others of vandalism and attacked them in edit summaries - One of your good buddies (not CTL) has also done the same several times. I don't recall you saying anything then.
  • They were irrelevant in many cases - This is a highly subjective opinion. Views have been sought on the talk page. In most of the cases of removal, it was your good buddy who did it whereas in many cases, the images are still there & no one has removed them (its almost 2 months now). In some cases, others have undone the removals. So once again, it is one's own opinion. Anyway i have proposed a week's wait. Let us review after that shall we?
  • They were cluttering the page otherwise - But what about articles which had no images. Why were the images uploaded there targeted ? Or is there any other reason?

I am happy that we are trying to sort out our differences & like CTL has said,we don't have an axe to grind against each other & our ultimate goal is an article of Superb quality. So let us be patient with each other & maybe we'll work out our differences. Superfast1111 (talk) 12:57, 6 December 2012 (UTC) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Here are my answers:
  • Adding one image is fine, but if you plan to add a plethora of them, discuss it. Putting ALL of them on the talk page, will ensure that EVERYONE will know the quality.
  • Removal without a reason. A reason was specified in all the cases: Either that it was unencyclopaedic, or that it was cluttering the page.
  • Abhishek isn't a Good buddy of mine. We've had more fights that you both. He did explain that they were irrelevant as they added no value to the page.
  • Some articles did need images, but the images you added weren't great. I'm being a generalised here. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 14:55, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
Hi Superfast, lately I tried my hand in creating a map for Arignar Anna Zoological Park. I discussed with user:Rsrikanth05, User:planemad, User:Donlammers, and User: Rasnaboy before even adding that to article. Eventually, I didn't add that to the article (it's in Commons). This is how things work here, and this is how Wiki is clean. Like srikanth says, it is ideal that you keep the pics in Commons and provide links to it in the talk page and initiate a discussion. That will solve all the issues.--Challengethelimits (talk) 04:31, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

- I did attempt to discuss it maybe next time i will trying to do it your way. But i must point out, that for the past week NO ONE removed any of the images that i had uploaded.

- One word 'irrelevant' is hardly called a reason. What you & CTL do is called a reason. Your explanation atleast enables me to understand & see your point of view. Whether we agree with each other or not, we do respect each others views.

- The only words coming out of Abhishek are irrelevant & glorification. Others have also undone his edits of my work which is completely side tracked here.

- Images are one's own point of view & we just cant please everybody. If Abhishek has images to add or show, let see them but if on that topic his score is ZERO then should'nt he just leave them alone? And what about facts, when i have undone his work on a couple of pages,i have stated facts like something obviously wrong with an image yet he wont listen so what do you boys suggest?

We can find a way to iron out our differences as we did in the past week, let us keep up the good work. Superfast1111 (talk) 05:03, 11 December 2012 (UTC)

Hey CTL, about the Duronto images, i just felt that 2 images are far too less for that article. The Vega chap thought 8 is too much, Alan thought 2 is too much. Was just surprised that you agreed with it. 2 images are really too less. Think we can increase the number?? Superfast1111 (talk) 04:51, 20 December 2012 (UTC)

Superfast, yes you are right. But this time around, I thought some senior editors will respond to that. We will request some of them to do so, buddy. This will solve all the problems I guess. Agree?--Challengethelimits (talk) 05:33, 20 December 2012 (UTC)

I agree. Hope you are already in touch with them. By the way, i have done some work on the Pune Secunderabad Shatabdi Express & needed your help in properly formating the timetable section. Could you pls help me? Superfast1111 (talk) 05:41, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

Railway station names

I have proposed that all railway station names in India be suffixed only with ‘railway station’ and all pages named otherwise be suitably altered. Kindly give your views on this subject in Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics. Cheers. - Chandan Guha (talk) 21:59, 2 December 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Triplicane Urban Co-Operative Society

Hello Challengethelimits,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Triplicane Urban Co-Operative Society for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Anir1uph | talk | contrib 11:14, 21 January 2013 (UTC)

Barnstar

Any barnstars for being a good person to talk to? Superfast1111 (talk) 14:07, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi Superfast, good to see ya. Plkease see Wikipedia:Barnstars. I am tied up with some other work, so I couldn't come to wiki frequently.--Challengethelimits (talk) 09:06, 29 June 2013 (UTC)

I have replied to some of the points you raised on Jaipur Duronto Express but would prefer it if you replied it here since it is a topic i just wish to discuss with you.

Superfast1111 (talk) 12:34, 22 September 2013 (UTC)

Hi Superfast, I have to agree whatever you say there because I am no expert in the area. I just see from a lay person perspective, which is what Wiki is all about. However, I would like to suggest you to read other better quality articles. it not only guides us how to and how not to write, it gives a hell a lot of templates to steal from. I'll give you an example: if I am going to write or improve a railway-related article, I would definitely see the page Grand Central Railway. There I find at least two templates that make my work easier. And the better part is, it is just one article among hundreds.
And on the conflicts, Wiki is filled with many different types of people working towards a common goal. 'Calling a spade a spade' is not always necessary here. If somebody is wrong, it's fine. They have the right to remain that way. What we do is make them understand the way we would like to learn from our seniors. If you got problems, leave to the experts. And come on friend, you are becoming a senior now, so don't waste your time fighting. Instead, set an example. Correct me I am wrong.
And regarding pictures, I thought you would like to see Flickr.com for reference and for uploading. Just choose 'advance search' there to see images that can be used in WIKI. For example, for Duronto Express pics, see this.
You can use Flickr upload bot to upload images.
Happy editing!--Challengethelimits (talk) 13:39, 22 September 2013 (UTC)
Try this too.--Challengethelimits (talk) 14:20, 22 September 2013 (UTC)

I was trying to do exactly that by trying to talk it out but it looked like it needed a little more help to persuade discussions or what could pass for them to take place. Having created 51 articles in 3 months, totally revamping 6 more so 57 articles do take a toll on you. Besides i am proud of the fact that barring 1, every image that i uploaded has been taken by me. I did try to help out another guy but he managed to get himself blocked on a unrelated matter.

While i was creating the various articles, i was using a standard template that i borrowed from one of the pages & no one has yet gone bonkers about it yet so 1 out of 57 is still a livable problem.

I was just doing a check up on my record at wikipedia. With a mere 52 articles created (51 of them in the last 3 months & all of them are train related), just above 1000 edits, around 580 image uploads, only 1 barn star & not to mention my block log, i would be the last person who deserves to be a senior editor. I don't even have one of the service medals and with the above record i doubt i will ever get any privileges either so sorry about it but i cant say i agree with you.

I was more interested in the speed calculations. I divided the total distance by the total time as that is what the railways provides but i was specific that it includes halts. For a train like duronto which has only 3 or 4 halts, stoppage time can be easily calculated & removed if required but for a train like 13007/8 Udyan Abha Toofan which has more than a century of halts, it would be very difficult. What is your thought on it?

Good to hear from you again anyway. Superfast1111 (talk) 08:00, 23 September 2013 (UTC) == CTL, if you recall i had a long, long time ago tried to uploaded stationboard & platformboard images at Chennai Central & Egmore pages but was not successful. Do you think it may be possible to try again? Superfast1111 (talk) 17:16, 23 September 2013 (UTC) == How many times a day do we say this https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wish_of_the_day.jpg

Notion Press

Hi. Did you read the note on the deletion log? If that didn't explain it clearly enough, I would recommend reading Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:NPOV tutorial. Deb (talk) 17:20, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi. I think that the references are just about acceptable although some of them are borderline advertising and refer to individual books, not to the company itself. I think that, provided you take care to use NPOV wording, the article will be okay. Deb (talk) 10:02, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

Heya

Heya, thanks for the kitten. :). How are you? I've been busy for a while with the Wikimedia India Chapter so I've not been able to contribute effectively to Wikipedia. Wanna start editing together again? -Rsrikanth05 (talk) 15:48, 2 December 2013 (UTC)

Yeah! Would love to. I am good here. Nice to know you are contributing to Wiki family. Here in Wikipedia Chennai, everyone is busy these days and vandalism and good faith edits are creeping in. It would be great if we can take up one article again and improve. I think Rasnaboy too will join in. I am not sure about Anbu.----Challengethelimits (talk) 01:34, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
I've got an idea for a new article. I've not yet created it, but let me know when you're ready and also ask Rasnaboy. It has the potential to hit DYK status. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 13:19, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, that would be great! I will talk to Rasnaboy too.----Challengethelimits (talk) 15:38, 4 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi there!

I noticed you recently nominated the page Kannathal for deletion; however, in your nomination, you didn't provide a rationale for why you want the article deleted. You should clarify your nomination by adding a valid reason for deletion. Right now, I can only assume that you want the article deleted for lack of notability, but I can't be sure. Thanks! Michaelzeng7 (talk) 01:13, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

Yes it is the issue. I will be more careful the next time. Thanks--Challengethelimits (talk) 15:36, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary

I tried adding some images to Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary, but I'm not entirely happy with how it looks.

A reader contributed several images, not just the four I added but some others.

You seem to be active there, I'll send the image tutorial to the image creator, but I'm also letting you know.--S Philbrick(Talk) 16:46, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi Sphilbrick, thanks for the message. The article is still highly disorganize. I will try to steal some time and make it proper. The article now is flooded with images and it will be nice if we get pictures that can replace two or more images in the present article. Happy editing--Challengethelimits (talk) 01:00, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
I'm sorry for any contributions I might have made to the disorganization. A reader sent in some nice photos, and asked if I could add them. I though I could drop in a simple gallery, but it didn't work out as well as I had hoped. I appreciate your willingness to clean it up. --S Philbrick(Talk) 01:29, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
Dear Sphilbrick, you know I didn't mean that. In fact, the pictures that you added are nice, but the text needs to be reworked and pics have to be moved to respective sections. We will do that in a weeks' time. I am particularly worried about the digital signature used in the images. Anyways, drop in my thanks to the contributor too! :) --Challengethelimits (talk) 01:44, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

CCP

I was wondering if you could help me out with Coimbatore City Police. It's a promising article. :) --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 14:09, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Sorry Srikanth, I couldn't contribute much as I was in Tirupathi. I Just returned. seems like you planned for DYK nomination. Sorry :( --Challengethelimits (talk) 12:45, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
Not an issue. I got it to over 1500 characters when I realised that there is nothing DYK worthy in the article. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 13:02, 4 February 2014 (UTC)

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:27, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
