May 2015[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page D'banj has been reverted.
Your edit here to D'banj was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4tC-MT6yBU) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 15:31, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Recent edits to D'banj[edit]

Hello. I noticed that you recently made a contribution to the D'banj article that seemed to be a test. Your test worked! However, test edits on live articles disrupt Wikipedia and may confuse readers. If you want more practice editing, the sandbox is the best place to do so. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Materialscientist (talk) 09:18, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

May 2015[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Versace1608. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Wizkid (musician) because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Versace1608 (Talk) 21:33, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Wizkid (musician)[edit]

Stop adding gossip to the Wizkid article. Wikipedia is not a gossip site per WP:ORGSPECULATION. I will report you if you add gossip again. Versace1608 (Talk) 09:59, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Reply to the barn-star you left on my talk page[edit]

Thanks for awarding me a barnstar. I know you're new here and it may take you some time to familiarize yourself with this encyclopedia. For starters, you are going about editing the wrong way. You need to change your style of writing because it is highly promotional. This is an encyclopedia and not a promotional site. You cannot use peacock terms when writing or contributing to an article in Wikipedia. As a Wikipedia editor, you should be reporting on the subject. Please do not praise or glorify the subject(s) whose articles you're contributing to. Always remember to cite multiple reliable sources. One can easily say that you're primarily here to promote Pulse Nigeria. Your excessive use of the news outlet, coupled with the fact that you've created a draft for the news outlet, gives credence to one's speculation about you. If you are affiliated with the Pulse brand, you should read Wikipedia's WP:COI before attempting to create an article for the said brand. Moreover, information you add must be written in your own words. Wikipedia has a strong policy against WP:PLAGIARISM. Please remember that Wikipedia is not a diary and not everything can be included. The information you've added to several articles are trivial and do not warrant inclusion. Versace1608 (Talk) 22:32, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • I haven't looked at all your edits, Deinlawson, but I saw a few--like this, which was properly reverted. We need relevant information, presented neutrally, and well-verified. This was really promotional and these "big" tags are not OK. Oh, wait, you can't see that anymore because I had to remove it: it was simply copied from the source. In other words, please acquaint yourself better with our guidelines. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 23:01, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • OK, look through your User contributions: the ones that are struck through are all copyright violations. I don't know if Pulse really cares, but we do. I will place a more formal note below--please consider that a warning. This is a serious matter. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 23:07, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

AfC notification: Draft:Pulse Nigeria has a new comment[edit]

I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:Pulse Nigeria. Thanks! FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 21:40, 8 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit habits[edit]

The information you're adding to several articles are trivial and irrelevant. Wikipedia is not a blog or social media. Always keep in mind that this is an encyclopedia. If you want to contribute to this encyclopedia, please add relevant information. If you continue to include these info, I will report you to administrator via their noticeboards. Versace1608 (Talk) 22:11, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • [moved from Versace's talkpage] Please you need to take it easy. You're not all that great with your edits. We all know what Wikipedia is, and the respect it deserves. Whatever i put here has a verified and reliable source from the citations and they are not bad edit habits or whatever you think they are for heaven's sake. I duly follow the WP guidelines, and I'm a trained journalist; so I don't understand what your problem is with me. I notice you took off all the edits i made for most musicians. If I start taking all the edits you've made for various entries and do the name-calling or whistle-blowing game to the Wikipedia community, users and admin, honestly tell me how you will feel??? I follow and still follow the Wikipedia guidelines, I've gotten positive comments and remarks from various users who i helped edit their pages/articles with reliable sources and citations! You're not God but a human, that's all i will say to you!!! What goes around in life, comes back around, remember this... Deinlawson (talk) 11:14, 21 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
    • Deinlawson, I moved your comment from the talk page of Versace1608, to keep this conversation in one place. I share the concerns of Versace and Flyer22, though I am pleased to see no copyvios in your most recent edits. To put it bluntly, though, no, your edits are not always following our guidelines--the one linked by Flyer is far from neutral, and WP:NPOV is pretty important here. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 12:07, 21 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Why kind of edit was this (and I mean your content that I reverted)? I see that you've been warned above about this type of editing, including by administrator Drmies. You either need some serious WP:Mentoring or a long-term (or indefinite) WP:Block. Flyer22 (talk) 10:50, 21 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Addition of excessive citation[edit]

You cannot add excessive citations to articles on Wikipedia. One citation is sufficient for the information you're adding to the articles. According to the Wikipedia policy of WP:OVERCITE, adding too many citations can cause citation clutter, which can make articles look untidy in read mode, and unreadable in edit mode. Please familiarize yourself with WP:OVERCITE before you make your next edit. Versace1608 (Talk) 22:23, 11 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
