List format

Would you mind if I change your list of comments on the GA review of Talk:Formation and evolution of the Solar System to a numbered list so I can refer to individual points more easily? ASHill (talk) 20:10, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. ASHill (talk) 20:20, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Tago Mago

The issues you addressed with the article have now been fixed. Dadaesque (talk) 03:26, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks again for your thoughtful review of Formation and evolution of the Solar System. It led to a substantial (and ongoing) improvement in the article which probably wouldn't have happened without an outsider's perspective. ASHill (talk) 14:08, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi mate, many thanks for your suggestions to get the article to GA status.

I was slightly confused about your comment on the first illustration not having a fair use rationale - seems fine to me! I'm hoping it's just that you didn't scroll down the page enough to see it and not that I've misunderstood what's required! I've made the rest of the changes you suggested - let me know what you think. Thanks again for you input Cavie78 (talk) 14:09, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

GA Review for Ghosts I-IV

Hey, just thought I'd let you know I reviewed Ghosts I-IV for you today, and I have passed the article without any hold period. Yep, it was that good. I can see you're also a GA reviewer, so I wouldn't be surprised if you were sure it would pass like that. It's kind of nice to review an article like that when I've been dealing with a lot of articles with minor issues that never get worked out before the hold period end. Anyway, if you've got questions or comments, just contact me on my talk page. Thanks. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 22:05, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, but actually, I do have an article waiting at WP:GAN that's been around for more than two weeks. The article is Crush 40 (should be under Music, third article). Since you offered, I really would appreciate a review. It's all the better that you're a tough reviewer; I've worked on this article for over three months and saved it from deletion once. Thanks. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 22:22, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Hey. Thanks for the GA Review of Crush 40, by the way. I really appreciate it. Anyway, I've addressed a bunch of the issues, but I've got a few questions and things I'm not ready to call done yet until you proofread it again. Can you take a look and respond to my questions, please? They're on the article talk page. Thanks. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 00:46, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

I've since addressed more points, just waiting for you to get back to me with another look. I don't think it's done, but I've got a couple questions on the talk page. It might be done, but I don't know. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 21:46, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Okay, I've finished everything you asked me to take care of. The lead still may need a little touchup, but I think it's done. Would you like to take a look again? Sorry to make you look so much in a short time, but when you've been working on this article for three months and it's what kickstarted your career in Wikipedia (yep, it did for me), it means a lot to get it to Good Article status. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 01:47, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Hey, aside from writing a lead, what else do you think I should do to get List of Opeth band members to FLC? Burningclean [speak] 02:09, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Wow, that code is very freakin confusing. What about a wikitable such as List of Megadeth band members, accept nicer? Burningclean [speak] 03:25, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
Your sandbox is really looking cool. Thanks for that. Maby, that could replace the template that is there. So what do you think about using your chart and the one in List of Megadeth band members? Or would you say that yours is good enough? I'd probably go with the latter. Cheers, Burningclean [speak] 02:31, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

omfg—I was just about to tag that for deletion. There had been a lot of talk about starting the project so I made the page but then no one jumped in. I'm gonna let you do your thing and I'll get back to you. You rock! —Hello, Control Hello, Tony 11:21, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

I think I've addressed all of your concerns. Let me know if you have others? Ealdgyth - Talk 16:38, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks so much for the assessment. It means a lot to me to have finally promoted this article after having saved it from deletion once. Anyway, I know I've already done something for you with the assessment for Ghosts I–IV, but if I can ever do anything for you again, just contact me, and I'll be happy to help. Discography Wikiproject

Hey, I've just joined the wikiproject. I was wondering when was this Wikiproject established? σмgнgσмg(talk) 06:51, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

I've wanted to join WPP:MUSIC but I leaned towards writing discographies, so... I just wanted to join a Wikiproject that was dedicated only to discographies. σмgнgσмg(talk) 06:58, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Images deleted

The images listed above have all been deleted, either under CSD I3 for those under a Creative Commons Non-Commercial license, or I9 for those under full copyright. Wikipedia is licensed under the GFDL, and our content is used on other sites, some for commercial profit. For that reason, we cannot accept any image that is licensed for non-commercial use only, or any image that is held under copyright with no assertion of permission. If you have such permission, you must have the owner of the copyright email permissions-en AT wikimedia DOT org with that permission. Uploading images under false licenses can and will lead to a block. Please review our non-free content policy for more information. Thank you. Hersfold (t/a/c) 21:11, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Please note that this is intended to serve as an explanation for why your images were deleted, and to provide instructions as to how to avoid it. This is not a "threat to block," however as copyright is taken very seriously here, we have to deal with it very seriously. Sorry if I seemed too harsh. Hersfold (t/a/c) 21:14, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
The Flickr pages for both of them said they were under copyright, not the GFDL. If there is an OTRS permission ticket in for them, the volunteer should be able to undelete them once it comes up. Sometimes those tickets take a while to process. If it takes a while, you can send in another email asking what's going on. Sorry for the confusion, and thank you very much for being so amiable about this. Hersfold (t/a/c) 22:20, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
Neither image was tagged - I just double-checked the deleted pages. I'm checking with a volunteer now to see what's going on. Hersfold (t/a/c) 23:00, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
Ok, I've restored the Riga image, as the volunteer confirmed that they had permission for it. He should be tagging the image soon, if he hasn't already. As for the ISA photo, he couldn't find any record of the ticket, and there is no OTRS tag in the file history. I'd recommend you send it in again - once it's received, it'll be undeleted (they do undelete things where needed, don't worry). Sorry for the confusion, but again, we can't have it up here unless it's "on the books." Hersfold (t/a/c) 23:26, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

I'm contemplating splitting off the "History" section into its own article, and leaving a stub section in its place. I was wondering if that would affect the article's GA status. Serendipodous 09:14, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

OK, have a look.

By the way, I never thought you were crazy; just that what you were asking was a monumental undertaking that would nearly double the size of the article. From the looks of things, I was right. Serendipodous 11:16, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Care to take a whack at it? I'm trying to pull some Reliable source, but could use a little help right now. AtaruMoroboshi (talk) 12:22, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

I put the subject under a separate heading, your comments would be welcome! « Gonzo fan2007 (talkcontribs) 05:42, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

In that case why can't we have both reviews on it? I don't understand the 10 review limit. Other albums don't have one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sharingan87 (talkcontribs) 00:54, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Delta Goodrem discography's FLC

It's been awhile since you've last commented on the FLC here. Take a look at the changes I've made and see if there is still room for improvement. Cheers. σмgнgσмg(talk) 12:28, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Since you are one of the main editors of WP:WikiProject Discographies and the creator of the "Style" section, I have a specific question for you. As one of two active editors of this discography, I currently have a disagreement with Harout72, the other main editor. A single named Terra promessa was released by Eros Ramazzotti in 1984 in his album Couri agitati, then a remix single of it was released in 1998 in his compilation album Eros. I don't think this version should be inserted due Wikipedia:WikiProject_Discographies/style#What_should_not_be_included which says:

  • Non-original or previously-released material used on soundtracks, trailers, commercials, or any other compilation releases.

Instead, his view of the matter is this: You (referring to me) are misinterpreting your very own link which you seem to be quite fond of, I meant it as a sarcasm in hopes that maybe it would help you understand it better. Please read closely the point #3 Non-original or previously-released material used on soundtracks, trailers, commercials, or any other compilation releases, it nowhere mentions anything about studio-redone versions especially featuring other artists. If you still dilly-dally, now read point #2 unless officially released, meaning they all could be included within the table because they all have been officially released including Terra Promessa.

All of this can be found here and in the history edits. Just wondering if you could give us your point of view, just so that we can move on and have a standard.

Also, could you please give your two cents on the charts in the talk page? Do you prefer them with or without colour? Thanks --Udonknome (talk) 15:00, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Re: NIN Stuff

Hey, I did what I could. I'm no english major, but I think I did an okay job. Along with that I have a few suggestions you could consider:

  • In the lead paragraph when you mention the three major tours being documented, maybe specify what releases documented them (Beside You In Time etc.)
  • Over and over again, I see two spaces following the end of a sentence. Was this done on purpose, or...?
  • Fragility (1999–2000)
"In support of Nine Inch Nails' third full-length studio album, The Fragile, the live band reformed for the Fragility tour." Which live band? The remaining one from the Self-Desruct tour?
  • Live band members
"In September 2007, Reznor expressed his interest in moving away from the "rock band configuration" to explore "other ways [to] present the material in concert"[57], though once again the 2008 incarnation consists of five positions." Could that constitute as original research without a citation?
  • Visual elements
"Using the gauze projection-screen, Phillip, Reznor, and Sheridan devised a "gag"...This particular trick can be seen in the tour documentary Beside You in Time." Again, original research?
  • I just wanna say, your a brilliant SOB cropping this image for the infobox.

Well, I wish you luck on the FAC. If you need any more help, just pitch me a line eh? I'll see what I can do. Cheers. -- Reaper X 00:19, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Hey, I noticed you edited the NIN article saying I'm Afraid of Americans featured Reznor, not NIN. In that case, be aware someone edited {{Nine Inch Nails}} with this diff. -- Reaper X 16:30, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

El-P Discography

Hey, I've added a new release to the El-P discography you've been working hard on. Great job, by the way. It's a new release he's currently selling at live shows. That was the only source I could find for the release. That's El-P posting on the DefJunkies message board.–FunkyVoltron talk 10:07, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

Nine Inch Nails

Sorry, I haven't been on a whole lot. I'm not very good with copyediting either, I usually have multiple people sift through my articles. I think I've still got a little work to do on the Opeth timeline, but it'll be done soon. Burningclean [speak] 02:46, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Would like your opinion on GA review for White Mountain art

Hi there. I'm new to GA review, but I guess I know how to pick 'em. For my 5th review I chose White Mountain art. You may have seen the comments on the GAN talk page. The review has been rather confusing. I wrote a review, but neglected to check to see that it was still nominated. Although I found what I considered to be multiple issues with MOS, OR and POV, it had been passed by another editor, User:Jack Bethune. User:Malleus Fatuarum delisted it and I posted my comments on the talk page and put the article on hold. Jack Bethune, in turn, took my suggestions and recommended, disagreed with, or advised the principal author to disregard my comments. The principal author, User:JohnJHenderson is now understandably confused. So I'm asking for experienced GA reviewers to look at the article and the talk page and offer some kind of consensus as to what he should do to bring it to GA. I appreciate anything you can do. Thanks. --Moni3 (talk) 01:14, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Congratulations on your recent WP:FL. In case you do not know, we are running an experiment to choose the List of the Month and Lists of the Day for June. Feel free to nominate your list at User:TonyTheTiger/List of the Day/Nominees/200807 for consideration next month to be the July LOTM or a LOTD. Formation and evolution

Hi Drew-

FYI, After a peer review and a substantial improvement over the GA article you reviewed, we've nominated formation and evolution of the Solar System as a FAC. ASHill (talk | contribs) 16:56, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

FLC

Hi there. Whilst your comments in improving the list have so far been invaluable, please re-review the discog as your oppose has stood for a long time and all your suggestions have been addressed thus far. RaNdOm26 (talk) 15:53, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

ndash

I have modified all <birth>–<death> references in White Mountain art per your request. I have added a number of image of paintings to other articles earlier in time, so I should change their captions also (as I encounter them). Can you please point me to the Wiki-guideline that specifies this use for ndash before I start making these changes in other articles? Thanks. JJ (talk) 13:12, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
