Non-free rationale for File:Tank-400x620.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Tank-400x620.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 00:19, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Larry Richmond has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Could you add sources? It seems like the topic is not notable.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hello, Hubdb39

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Dan arndt, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, W.T. Henry, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Dan arndt}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

Orphaned non-free image File:Tank-400x620.jpg

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Tank-400x620.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:52, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Tips when creating/expanding articles

[edit]

Hi Hubdb39. I have a few tips for when you create or expand articles: (1) at the end of the prose content, a reference section should be added, which can be placed with the following code:

==References==
{{Reflist}}

(2) At the end of each paragraph, and sometimes within one, a citation should be added (add immediately following the period, leaving no space); each quote must have a citation following it. (3) After citing the sources using <ref> </ref>, to avoid bare URLs, you may wish to fill them using reFill or manually by {{Cite web|url=|title=|website=|date=|author=}} (more at Template:Cite web). (4) Categories should be added at the very bottom of the page by adding [[Category:category name]]. You can also add them with the tool HotCat. You can come to me or the teahouse if you have any questions. BTW your article on Lane College Dragons football I believe should be named Lane Dragons football. You can change the title by: copying all the content of the article you made, pasting it in the redirect "Lane Dragons football", and then redirecting "Lane College Dragons football" to that page by replacing everything with "#REDIRECT [[Lane Dragons football]]". BeanieFan11 (talk) 19:09, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Harding Bisons dormant football years of 1932–1958, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Right now, there is not enough in-depth coverage from independent, reliable sources to show notability. All sources are primary. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Onel5969 TT me 19:34, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hubdb39 here: Why are you questioning sources coming directly from the yearbook annuals of the university? It's from 80 to 90 years ago from small town Arkansas. I doubt the New York Times is going to weight in. It's absolutely verified with suitable sources, as is.

Notice

The article Josh Jones (American football coach) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A tag has been placed on Buck Arnold requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. This was a coach from the 1920's and 1930's. Same type of brief article on any coach from any program 100 years ago. It's historical, and it had cited references. Hubdb39 (talk) 15:34, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your contributions to 1972 Harding Bisons football team. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Thanks. I've added some citations on top of the ones that were already there. It's newsworthy in that 1972 team was the very first conference championship for the entire history of the program, a program that actually won the national championship this past year. I certainly don't plan on doing new links to every year, although many college have that. Thanks again. Hubdb39 (talk) 09:59, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
