Nomination of Treaty Sarsfields GAA for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Treaty Sarsfields GAA is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Treaty Sarsfields GAA until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Gaijin42 (talk) 16:56, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello!

[edit]

Hi, Iverus. I've just taken a look at Treaty Sarsfields GAA and to be frank, I'm confused. It doesn't read like an entry in an encyclopedia. Did you write this text or paste it here from another source? I'd like to help you create an article if I can but it's hard to understand exactly what the subject of the article is. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here and I'll do my best to assist you. OlYeller21Talktome 21:33, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to weight in on the deletion of the article, you would need to do so on the articles for deletion page for the article (it is linked from the notice on the article). You mention in your talk comment that "it is an important bit of research". That raises a red flag to me that it might be WP:Original Research. It would be great if you could find references to back up the facts identified in the essay, and take out any personal opinion stuff. Gaijin42 (talk) 13:19, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

GAA articles

[edit]

Hey, I noticed you made a new GAA article. Please be sure that you are following WP:Verifiability and WP:Original Research, your new article has no references, and seems to be an original research essay. Gaijin42 (talk) 14:37, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am trying to put in the references but they are not showing up on the article. As you know, i am new to this and am learning as i go on.

Please hold off on editing templates until you understand them a little better. Quite frankly, you're screwing them up. OlYeller21Talktome 15:05, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of "Ballysteen GAA"

[edit]

A page you created, Ballysteen GAA, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a club or other organization, but it does not indicate how it is important or significant, and thus why it should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for organizations in particular.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. DVdm (talk) 14:44, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making test edits in Wikipedia pages, such as those you made to Template:Infobox GAA club/doc, even if you intend to fix them later. Your edits do not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. OlYeller21Talktome 15:22, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Askeaton GAA requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. MikeWazowski (talk) 23:43, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Disbanded Limerick City GAA clubs

[edit]

The article Disbanded Limerick City GAA clubs has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unreferenced OR

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hello, Iverus. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Disbanded Limerick City GAA clubs".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Disbanded Limerick City GAA clubs}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 07:59, 14 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Canon Punch Park has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Uncited and orphaned since creation. Prior to recent cleanup, the content was entirely out of project scope. Unclear that the subject is within project scope either. The subject seems to be a "sports ground that never really was". Specifically unclear what notability criteria such a subject would fall under. And, if that could be clarified, whether the subject would/could meet that criteria. In terms of WP:GNG, I can find no mention of the subject in the relevant Irish newspapers of record. The Irish Times has nothing, the Irish Independent has nothing, and the Limerick Leader (the only potential source mentioned in the body) has barely three passing mentions...

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
